I was just thinking we should put him in. He better play in the second half.

Can anyone confirm Kobe is out tonight?

Kobe Bryant had hoped to wake up after going full speed in practice on Monday and feel good enough to play in the Lakers' Tuesday opener. His surgically repaired right knee must not be ready.

Bryant

According to a message on Bryant's Web site before Tuesday night's game, Bryant has decided to sit out.

"The excitement of tonight was beginning to cloud my judgment of playing," Bryant wrote. "I want to play, but I am not there yet. I am rounding third base and will be home soon."

The Lakers practiced Monday at Staples Center and Bryant participated in much of the session. He has been recovering from right knee surgery and didn't play in any of the Lakers' preseason games.

"I really don't know yet," Bryant told ESPN The Magazine's Sam Alipour on Monday. "We had a great practice today, where I was moving well. I was exploding, I was jumping and dunking. And I felt good.

"I just pray that tomorrow [Tuesday]morning I'll wake up, go through the shootaround, and I won't be sore. If I'm not, I'm in the clear."

On Saturday, Bryant told Lakers coach Phil Jackson that he'd be available to play.

"He says he's going to play on Tuesday," Jackson said. "There's a disclaimer that he's doubtful. I'm sure that he'll make the correct decision. He came off the floor and he was sore, but he was on the court for a good hour and a half before he came off."

Gay. Oh well Baby Bynum and Odom will lead us to victory.

I wonder if Wade is hurt or tired. He hasn't been explosive off the step at all tonight. He looks like he's not taking it to the hole with a lot of force.

Nah he is just trying to shoot, and albeit effectively. It's the rest of the cast that is sucking tonight. There is no reason they should have a 25+ point lead, except that the offense is horrible tonight.

Damn that sucked to recieve your rings and then get beat by 40 points at home, i do believe i saw this team against the Mavericks last year.

But the Heat are still the defending champs. And, they should be fine as the season continues.

I just think it stinks for the Heat fans that went to watch them on the ring ceremony night.

But what can you do? The season is 82 games long. You move on to the next game.

Injuries are killing us.

College Basketball games are probably the most exciting sporting events (outside of good football games).

well yea... :thumbup

I hate watching the NBA. It would be on the bottom of my list of all the major sports, including college football and basketball

Ya, it's all opinionated obviously.

There are actually people who like to watch hockey out there too.

Hockey is actually one of the most exciting sports there is. And it's one of the only sports that can actually call itself a sport anymore. I'll take watching a Panthers game over watching a Heat game with Dwayne "breathe on me and it's a foul" Wade any day of the week. If someone "fouls" you during a hockey game, it's legal to kick the sh*t out of them.

Amen brother :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy

The rank goes

1) College Basketball

2) Hockey

10) NBA

Being a Michigan fan, I would think college hockey would be #1 on your list!

Unfortunately you are in the minority on this one.

understatement of the year

saying Hockey is more exciting than the NBA is ridiculous

Ummmmmmm, no.

What IS ridiculous is you trying to say one sport is more or less exciting than another, who the hell are you of all people to tell someone which sport they should find more exciting?

ESPN has really gone to your head, I swear ESPN is probably the worst thing that has ever happened to American sports.

The MLB playoffs were mindnumbingly boring this year, the NBA playoffs were decided by the refs and not the teams on the court, the NFL playoffs - nobody even remembers the game because it's all about the "event" and the TV commercials... and then we have the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the longest and most grueling in professional with countless games going to overtime and almost every series going 7 games and being decided in the final period or overtime.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Riles will approve a Jalen Rose signing.

And ya, J-Will is an integral part of this team. If he doesn't come back healthy we are in trouble.
