  1. Conine throwing out Snow at home plate against the Giants in the NLDS playoffs.... As far as best moment at a game I was at: the Phillies series at the Vet in late September of 2003 when we knocked the Phillies out of the Wild Card... With Lieberthal on 2nd, Jim Thome hit a rocket to left center, Conine made a great catch at the wall and then threw out Lieberthal at 2nd... Marlins went on to win that game That, and Miggy hitting one out after getting dusted vs Clemens.
  2. Nothing against you Matty, but blowing a save against you BLOWS!
  3. Anyone betting he pulls a Miguel Cabrera on his first game?
  4. Honestly... it seems to me that one of two things is happeneing. Either the pitchers have discovered a secret method to no-hitting the other team... or that secret method is actaully called paying off the other team So do you mean that the Doc bribed our Fish?! Are they not happy with the salaries Loria gives them!? Blasphemy! Which brings me to the question: What would Cody do with some extra cabbage?
  5. Coghlan's average is up to .242 now btw He is hitting .556 in June! Of course, two day sample size, but .284 for the last 30 days. I'd say he has turned it around.
  6. Gave it to Cody. His HR unchained our offense.
  7. I hope we can get some runs tomorrow lol
  8. Great inning by Sanches. No shenanigans.
  9. Chris Bleepin' Narveson, folks. Halladay's perfect game needs a huge asterisk. As in the team he got the perfecto against can't hit their way out of a paper bag. I kinda want to agree with you, but the Doc is still the Doc, no matter who he faces.
  10. Their pitcher is hitting better than our entire team right now. Pathetic.
  11. It would certainly be nice to have him back with the Fish, but, can he be saved? I guess out of all places, we have given a ton of washed up guys another opportunity, so why not him. He is still young, so who knows. Maybe he'll figure things out.
  12. I gave my vote to Paulino-a blasphemy since Anibal was amazing-because of our offense woes. Anemic as it has been, whoever drives in a run deserves to be FOTG.
  13. I would do anything to see JJ win the CY Young. Too bad Tim Lincecum is the National League. There's also a guy named Roy Halladay. And Ubaldo. Love that name. Gonna name all my kids that...
  14. No Hanley, No Problem Ouch lol
  15. There have been a few times this year when I felt Coghlan could run harder both in the OF and on the basepaths but I wouldn't say he was dogging it. Hanley's just being silly. He's being a little sissy. He is the one getting burned for something, and he goes on and tries to justify himself by throwing dirt on the teammates? Intolerable.
  16. A four game sweep of the Mutts sounds delicious.
  17. Beautiful to see JJ back in 09 shape. And the offense!
  18. I gave it to Volstad. Despite the walks and the dinger, he looked pretty good. Let's hope he keeps it up. Congrats to Cantu! Keep adding to the record tonight, hombre!
  19. Under. It's only the Reds, and they no longer have Griffey.
  20. I think the only non-question mark is Johnson in this lineup. You dont know what will come out of Nolasco. Which Nolasco shows up? To me Sanchez and Nolasco are in the same boat... hopefully they both come out good. With Volstad... you know he's got the skillset he just needs to put himself together. I honestly see Volstad as the difference in a playoff team this year. As for Robertson... I expect him to start the season off nicely before the batters start adjusting to his pitching... and I expect the Marlins to be actively shuffling that 5th spot. your an idiot if you think nolasco is in the same boat as sanchez. plain and simple In seriousness, Nolasco is coming off a horrific season overall. To think Nolasco isn't guaranteed to be a top 30 pitcher isn't outlandish. Seriously? If you consider the season to be April and May, yes. But after he was sent down he came back and pitched pretty well. You take out those two first months and his season was pretty decent. If we get that Nolasco, the one of the post-May demotion, he will do fine. And while ST is not a prediction of the regular season, he could at least use his numbers to start the season in a confident manner. I do not think that anyone here can question his stuff or control, so in the end, it's all in his head, really.
  21. Peterson might be the one to start the season there.
