Marlins win and stop the slide, 1-0

W: Sanchez (5-2)

L: Moyer (5-5)

S: Nunez (10)

Our offense is really a problem, especially with runners on.

Sanchez and the bullpen were great, our offense, not so much. That has been a theme for our wins lately.

Seriously, our offense just can't be this bad. This is pretty much the same lineup as last year. Actually better with Gaby Sanchez/without Bonifacio. Sooner or later, they have to start scoring. Hopefully...

And as I told David V the other night...the outfield is a far bigger concern than the bullpen. The middle relief has been pretty bad, but the Marlins can easily cut the game to 7 innings the way Hensley and Nunez have pitched the first 2 months of the season. It'd be nice if we can get them a lead more often.

EDIT: Nice to see Tank is back, as well. He was always our LOOGY, when healthy, and it looks like he's finally healthy, again.

My goodness Anibal has been simply outstanding this season and in particular the past few weeks. Comeback player of the year anyone?

This win goes to the offense. Time and time again today they showed that they could do the little things to score all the runs we needed today.

Leo. Filth. He has to be considered one of the best CLs in the game right now next to guys like Valverde, Broxton, and Marmol.

Gave the poll to Anibal, though. Is it safe to say he's back?

What a crazy game, we come back to win 1-0 the day after we lost 1-0.

I agree with all the above points really, can't add anything. Sanchez, Hensley and Nunez have been awesome. Hopefully Tank can keep getting lefties out and well... the offense is just sucking right now.

Anyone else feel almost cheated to hold Howard, Utley, Werth and Co to 4 runs total for the series and we lose 2 of 3?

This further shows the point that our offense has some major, major issues at the moment.

yeah we had some pretty damn good pitching this series.

i cant remember a series where all 3 games were decided by one not to mention back to back 1-0 games.

huge win but the offense needs to get going and man if coghlan and maybin dont start a fire the next week...we very well could see morrison and most definitely stanton.

Sanchez has an ERA under 2 in his last 8 starts.

In his last50.1 IP: 43 H, 43 K/18 BB (2.4 K/BB). 1.21 WHIP. Those are some very nice numbers.

He's been very lucky with home runs, yes. He's also been a little unlucky with BABIP. Either way, these numbers are impressive.

This is what happens when two of your starting outfielders are batting in the .210-.230 range.

I'm also pretty sure our RISP averages are in the toilet.

Maybin instead of Hermida, lets not underestimate that. I know that Hermida wasn't all that popular but I think we could use that 60 points of OBP. Baker is hurt also. This is not the lineup from last year, it is worse.

Eric, you might want take a look at Hermida's line as of today.

I know Morrison has just gotten back from injury but with the way 2 of our 3 OF have been playing I wouldn't mind him in left and Stanton in right.

Eh... Baker being hurt doesnt matter at the moment. Paulino is hot stuff right now. But Coghlan and Maybin need to go rediscover their abilities to play baseball.

????!?!?!

No offense, but what offense? Fire Jim Presley!!!!!!!!

They got 13 hits and 3 runs for the series ^

That's the Jeremy Hermida we all know and love... If only we had his .259 OBP on this team right now, we'd be leading the division.

One of the maddening/jubilant things about a 3 game series against a division rival: get swept, you are 3 games down. Win one, you are only one more game back. Would rather have us win 2 or sweep, but at least, in the end, we didn't dig ourselves too much of a bigger hole.

I was going to check Andino's line from this year to put it in here but then I realized there was no line for Andino in the bigs this year.

Anibal is without a doubt back to 2006 form...He recommitment to fitness this off-season is paying off big time.

I hope you looked at his 2010 AAA line just for giggles.

Andino's got a .263 OBP IN AAA?! Good God. Real shame sorry we didn't hold on to that piece.

Well, he's about as valuable as Hayden Penn. I'd call it a fair deal

That's not Robert Andino in AAA. That's his identical twin brother who wanted a chance to play professional baseball. Robert Andino is such a giving and awesome person that he would be willing to give up a year of baseball to let him have this once and a lifetime chance. Unfortunately his brother isn't very good.

Luckily for us, next year Andino will be back with the Orioles and will be the everyday SS for the team.
