May 31, 201016 yr Author That's not Robert Andino in AAA. That's his identical twin brother who wanted a chance to play professional baseball. Robert Andino is such a giving and awesome person that he would be willing to give up a year of baseball to let him have this once and a lifetime chance. Unfortunately his brother isn't very good. Luckily for us, next year Andino will be back with the Orioles and will be the everyday SS for the team. Seek help my friend.

May 31, 201016 yr Eric, you might want take a look at Hermida's line as of today. I didn't realize that I wasn't talking about this years Marlins v. last year's team. Next time I will make sure to remember that we are moving people through time and space to satisfy whatever point anyone wants to make. Maybin is awful this year. Hermida was not last year.

He wasn't good, either. A .740 .OPS from a corner outfielder is not something I miss.
May 31, 201016 yr He wasn't good, either. A .740 .OPS from a corner outfielder is not something I miss. Yet you would welcome average in place of Maybin's spot in the order.

To be fair, if you add in defense, Brett Carroll would give approximately give the same amount of production as Hermida. And despite all the struggles, BC is our 4th outfielder. I do agree that we've downgraded there thus far; I'm just saying it's not as if we lost something special, for the offense to suck so much worse, as it has thus far. Plus, this is all a wash, once you consider that Gaby Sanchez has pretty much taken over for Emilio Bonifacio (comparing this to last year). That's a significant upgrade. We just have certain players really underperforming.
May 31, 201016 yr I'm glad I came back to Sun Life today after last games loss and it's been a pleasure to watch Anibal pitch as well as he has this season. He has shown stellar composure with men on base which shows with his 2.89 ERA even with a WHIP of 1.30 and he's been the true # 3 guy this year. If he and J.J. keep dominating along with success from Nolasco, Volstad and Robertson this team will be well over .500 whenever the offense gets back to form.

May 31, 201016 yr I gave my vote to Paulino-a blasphemy since Anibal was amazing-because of our offense woes. Anemic as it has been, whoever drives in a run deserves to be FOTG.

We just have certain players really underperforming. We're forgetting what Nick Johnson did for the offense with his .400+ OBP, even though that was only for about a month and a half. During that stretch we had Coghlin getting on base at a .390 clip and NJ getting on base at a .400+ clip in front of Hanley, Cantu, and Uggla. Now we have two guys at the top of the lineup most of the season with OBP's under .300. That's a big difference. The Marlins need one other guy getting on base above .350 in the leadoff spot (in addition to Gaby hitting second). I think that will jump start the offense.

Hey all, visiting Brewers fan here. What I fear is that our pitching is what will jump start your offense. They did it for the Braves as well as others. Too bad for you that Bush is pitching the 3rd game, because I see him getting lit up. Maybe you'll roll after that though.

Dont you mean Sanchez has been the true #2 guy ? Hes been pitching great. All Volstad needs is run support which has been terrible--which he probably wont get again as hes facing Milwaukees ace Yovanni Gallardo next. . Nolasco should improve his 4.65 ERA .

Bush 5.05 ERA is pitching the 2nd game against Nolasco not the 3rd and he probably will get lit up for an easy win for the Marlins.
May 31, 201016 yr Yeah Popeye, I'm not sure if my memory is bad, but I think they might have changed the "probable pitchers" on the MLB site.

May 31, 201016 yr Anibal is without a doubt back to 2006 form...He recommitment to fitness this off-season is paying off big time. Wasn't it something like 20-30 lbs he lost in preparation for this year?

No, we all get to see greatness at work. It's like how we are all lucky to watch Albert Pujols play 1st base on an everyday basis. That's how we will feel once Andino is back with Baltimore.
