November 6, 200619 yr Let me hold your hand though this: My point is, he's a no-talent cry baby. Without the hook he "sampled" in his breakout hit, Through The Wire. his career is nothing. NOTHING. He's one of the most celebrated producers in all of music. He has made hits for tons of people. I really don't think it was a Chaka Kahn sample that blew his career into the atmosphere, as much as being hyped by every single important hip hop artist in the world as "the next big thing". You act as if he sampled "Thriller" or something. For most people of this generation, "Through the Wire" is much more well known than "Through the Fire". It's not the same situation as "I'll Be Missing You" taking "Every Breath You Take", which is one of the most well known songs around. You are basically writing off an entire genre of music by saying that sampling somehow makes you a no talent reject. That's pretty damn closeminded. I suppose Beck's entire career is nothing without his samples throughout "Loser" and "Where It's At", huh? You would be surprised how much influence a well placed sample in a song can make it a hit. Jay-Z - Hard Knock Life ring a bell?
