Bertuzzi cleared to skate, not play

Panthers forward Todd Bertuzzi has received medical clearance to resume light skating, perhaps as soon as today.

But it could be awhile before he is allowed to suit up in a game.

Coach Jacques Martin confirmed Bertuzzi's progress report.

Bertuzzi played in the Panthers' first seven games before undergoing back surgery in early November.

He is cleared only to skate for ''balance and body awareness'' and is not yet ready to practice with the team.

Good news.

first a road win, now this!

good to hear. Lets hope we arent tooooo far out of it by the time he gets back.

good news, might be too late for the season this year though by the time he gets back but it is good news.

maybe we can start a winning streak or something

Todd is FA after this season correct? We pretty much just gave up Luongo for Todd to come to South Florida to get back surgery? He surely won't be around next year correct?

I can't wait to see this guy back on the ice with the Panthers. :disco

Most likely he is gone.
