December 10, 200619 yr According to Canesport.com, former (current but has been fired) Arizona State head coach Dirk Koetter has been named as the probable front runner to become the Hurricanes next offensive coordinator. Supposedly he has close ties to Randy Shannon, however, an announcement won't come until at least after bowl season, and after Koetter makes sure that he doesn't have any potential other head coaching positions that he would be able to jump into. If this happens, that is a GREAT hire. ASU has almost always had great offenses under Koetter. He also had some powerful offenses when he was coaching at Boise St. Hopefully if he is hired, he gets this putrid offense turned around ASAP.
