December 20, 200619 yr http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm POSTED 12:20 p.m. EST; UPDATED 12:29 p.m. EST, December 20, 2006 CARSON PALMER INJURED? A reader tipped us off on Tuesday to the possibility that Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer emerged from Monday night's loss to the Colts with an injury. Per the tipster, Palmer has a shoulder injury, possibly a torn rotator cuff. We've poked around a bit via our network of sources, and we've concluded that there's something to this one. It's our understanding that Palmer is undergoing tests on the shoulder today. It's the last thing the 8-6 Bengals need as they prepare to face the 8-6 Broncos on Sunday in Denver. The winner will be in great shape for a playoff spot; the loser will be battling with the likes of the Jaguars and the Steelers and the Jets and the Chiefs and the Titans and the Bills (the Bills?) for the six seed. It may or may not be ture but they say he is getting tested today...
December 20, 200619 yr Carson Palmer (shoulder) and Chad Johnson (undisclosed) each missed practice on Wednesday but are probable to play in Week 16. The franchise quarterback had a brief scare in the fourth quarter on Monday when his arm was impeded as it pushed outward to release a pass. Palmer remained in the game, although Johnson missed a chunk of time after requiring intravenous fluids for cramps. Don't read too much into the missed practice unless it extends through Friday and a downgrade follows. Per: Bungholes.com

Jack Brennan, the club's director of public relations, said there is no structural damage. Trainers and coaches felt Palmer came out of the game sore, Brennan said, and that it was best to hold him out of practice for the day. He's probably playing hurt. December 22, 200619 yr Notes: Palmer gags media By GEOFF HOBSON December 20, 2006 Updated:12-21-06, 3:50 p.m. Palmer Carson Palmer had fun with the media Thursday when he threw his first pass of practice in warmups and then grabbed his right shoulder. Fake out. After that zinger, he laughingly threw some zingers to fellow quarterbacks Doug Johnson and Anthony Wright, and looked fine, scuttling any whispers of rotator cuff damage or postseason surgery. Palmer said Thursday before practice there is nothing wrong with his throwing shoulder and that he plans to practice Thursday and Friday, and play Sunday against Denver. Palmer worked in team drills Thursday, as did wide receiver Chad Johnson (ankle), also returning from Wednesday off. But left tackle Levi Jones (knee) may have suffered a setback because he missed a portion of team drills and remained questionable after practicing Wednesday. But there may have also been some worry about putting him on a slick surface on a rainy day. Palmer defused speculation that he has a damaged shoulder by joking, ?The Reds have a tryout on Monday (as a pitcher),? and said he has no idea where the Internet reports came from during a brief meeting with reporters during Thursday lunch. ?It?s fine. There isn?t anything wrong with my shoulder,? Palmer said. ?I don?t know where it came from. Everything is great.? Palmer apparently took some snaps in team drills Wednesday but didn?t throw, which put him on the injury report as missing practice because he missed a portion of team work. The Bengals have reported no structural damage, and said he was sore after taking some shots Monday night in Indianapolis. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, HELP CARSON'S DONE! Lovely. Typical making up of stories when there is none because the guy took some shots and was sore. Shame on him.
