Posted February 2, 200718 yr NFL Player Chad Johnson Questioned By Police Police Seek Clues in Brownsville Man's Death (CBS4) MIAMI The Cincinatti Bengals ? apart of the NFL?s American Football Conference franchise - released a statement Friday morning that its wide receiver, Chad Johnson of Miami had been questioned by police in connection with the death of Curtis Tavares Dopson last Friday in his Miami duplex in the Brownsville section of Miami. ?Chad has confirmed to the club that he cooperated with the Miami police earlier this week as part of a routine investigation," the club said. "Police have characterized this as a routine procedure and have stressed Chad is not a suspect or even a person of interest. Given that, we see no cause to comment further." Johnson is reported to have told police that he knew Dopson, whose mother was quoted as saying they knew one another ?from around the neighborhood?. Johnson is also reported telling police he has no knowledge of the incident and indicated his questioning was part of a routine police investigation. Johnson was host Thursday night in one of many Super Bowl gala events being celebrated on South Beach. (? MMVII, CBS Broadcasting Inc. All Rights Reserved.)
February 2, 200718 yr It clearly says he's not a suspect, before the typical "another Bengal arrest/being questioned by police" stuff comes out. Nice try, though. Hard for me to take an article seriously when they can't even spell Cincinnati right anyways.
