2009 Postseason Discussion Thread
Great call by the umpire. That ball was clearly FAIR by Mauer. The umpiring in these playoffs has been pretty bad, thus far. And he was right there to, whats the point of having outfield umpires if they can't even do there jobs right? I thought it was fair before I even saw the replay. Then I saw by how much in the replay and that it hit Melky's glove while he was in fair territory and was like wow how do you blow that. The same way they keep blowing calls in the Angels/Red Sox games, the umps have been pretty terrible in that series. CB Bucknor should never see the playoffs, again.

Blue Jays to get rid of Rios?
He was traded for salary relief, nothing coming back to Toronto. http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/news/story?id=4390120 Toronto did not receive any compensation for the two-time All-Star, who is batting .264 with 14 homers and 62 RBIs in 108 games.

6/17/09 Marlins @ Red Sox
Of course Ortiz catches fire when we play against him... You can thank the Yankees.

Matt Garza is a pretty good pitcher
Not my point. Whenever someone has a no hitter AGAINST their team, they, unlike every other team that I've seen, don't cheer for that pitcher. Instead, when the no hitter gets broken up, they cheer frantically as if they just won the World Series. No class. I wouldn't cheer, as a fan of the opposite team, for my team to be no hit. And I'm not really a Red Sox fan. Guess I'm a no class Marlins fan, but I can't see someone cheering for their team to get no hit being a classy fan. :thumbdown Would you cheer for your team losing?

College Football Thread - Week 5
The OSU fans are already lining up to celebrate...I'd love to see USC pull off a comeback here just to make them look dumb. Lol yeah, that would have been hiliarious, esp. after the gatoraide bath.

Lead has quickly narrowed to 21-14 towards the of the 3rd quarter. If the Trojans don't come back to win this game, I'd be shocked. Shocked? :mischief

Garbageman....I'm calling you out.
So yea...give me Garbageman making horrible predictions over the garbage that is here now ruining this board. I agree, I agree. That MrMarlinPride dude is annoying and 99.9% of his posts are pretty pointless, he just slams his head on the keyboard and hopes something insightful comes out.

Houston Astros
I think they will come up 1 or 2 games short. Brewers are too good. They haven't been too great lately. They're begging to lose that wild card to somebody. 3-7 in their last 10. These postponed games will probably kill the Stros though.

Houston Astros
Wow i knew the astros were on fire but now their just 3 out of the WC. Anybody think they can pull a a 07 rockies. They just dont seem to lose and theyve been doing all this with out Carlos lee granted they still have berkman whos gotta be one of the most uderrated players in the game. Are you callin Berkman a cow? But yeah, the Stros story seems to be a good one but I'm still rootin for the Brewers, sorry Stros. Now if we could somehow talk the Cubs into a 10 game losing streak...

New MLB TV Premium Feature
I wish they got rid of the local blackout =/ I agree, that way all of us Marlins fans in Orlando would get to see them again. Blackouts in S. FL I can undersand, but Central Florida??? MLB territorial restrictions have been the bane of my existnce for 10 yrs now. Lol, I think I lucked out in Central Florida. I live just west of Disney, and I'm not sure if its because this area is just recently seeing development or what, but I'm not blacked out for any teams and that includes Tampa Bay .. but shh, don't tell anyone. I was initially blacked out for Tampa Bay, then I complained because their blackout system stated no blackouts for this zip code, so they "fixed" it.

Tampa Bay Rays
Of course, there are teams that spend it very foolishly...it's all about getting the best out of your money Like the Yankees? :thumbup I suppose you could say Tigers too, since they're unlikely to make the playoffs (and struggling with .500)
-
Tampa Bay Rays
Some cool guys around here. I mean who wouldn't want the Red Sox to buy another division? I hate that phrase..."buy"...bah you Joe, bah you. I think its the correct phrase though. :whistle Not really. They're one of 11 teams spending over 100 million, woohoo? Yankees, maybe. Only because they're so far ahead in terms of payroll, but just because the Marlins only spend 20 million on payroll doesn't mean every other team should be that cheap. :banghead edit: and they aren't even top 3 anymore, theyre #4.
