Posted August 7, 200915 yr http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4384253 i would love it if he was a marlin...but im dreaming. i think he's got real good potential. would cost us 2 Mil
August 7, 200915 yr Author i read something at the bottom that said the team who picks him up would only pay 2 mil or something like that. maybe its for the remainder of the season
August 7, 200915 yr it is. he still has quite a while on his contract i think. the jays would be retarded to just not let him go
August 7, 200915 yr Author i would love to see him as a marlin, but they wont pony up the 2 mil. and im sure the jays dont have any interest in lets say...hermida? whatever. and im sure the jays will get a nice return, unless they've gone retarded
August 7, 200915 yr why would you love to see him as a marlins? cody is having a better year then him and he would ckeep guys like stanton and maybin in the minors for a couple years
August 7, 200915 yr Author the way i would want it is to keep him for the rest of the season (no way i want to keep stanton in the minors) then get rid of him however they like. im just trying to find ways to get rid of hermida haha...i really dont like him. OF of Coggs Ross Rios sounds better than something with Hermida or Bonifacio in it
August 7, 200915 yr theres very little chance that someone would take his contract. so you either get him and keep him or dont get him at all
August 7, 200915 yr Author theres very little chance that someone would take his contract. so you either get him and keep him or dont get him at all hmm ok :nods head in agreement: i got a feeling this will just blow over and the jays will keep him till atleast the off-season. i wonder how badly they want to keep halladay.
August 7, 200915 yr Author Rios has $60 million left on his contract, not $2 million. 2mil to keep him the rest of the season
August 7, 200915 yr Rios has $60 million left on his contract, not $2 million. 2mil to keep him the rest of the season Yes, but the rest of his contract also exists.
August 7, 200915 yr LOL, Rios and Hermida have been nearly identical players this year. Only difference is Hermida made $2 million while Rios made $6 million and will be worth a hell of a lot more than Hermida will be down the line. We have guys in the minors with Stanton, Morrison, Raynor, Carroll Cousins, etc... who can all come in and perform just as well as Rios this year for a hell of a lot less money. He's signed through 2014 on a contract where he will make more and more money each year until his contract ends. The Marlins aren't even considering Rios, that is a guarantee.
August 7, 200915 yr You guys want Alex Rios on this team, yet you want to get rid of Hermida. Smart. rios is much better then hermida. if they both had the same contract id take rios 100 times out of 100
August 7, 200915 yr someone already claimed him. i originally thought that it was the giants but now i think it's the white sox. they have a lot of payroll comming off the books in the offseason and could be there future rightfielder instead of resigning dye

August 7, 200915 yr Rios is 3 years older than Hermida, gives you basically the same production as Hermida( he is better defensively), but he makes MUCH more than Hermida. You can't possibly want him over Hermida.
August 8, 200915 yr Rios is 3 years older than Hermida, gives you basically the same production as Hermida( he is better defensively), but he makes MUCH more than Hermida. You can't possibly want him over Hermida. like i said, without the contract. he is much better then hermida. better numbers all around and can, get this, hit both rightys and leftys . better numbers all around and better d, id take rios if it werent for his huge contract like i said.

And your point is...? Yeah, he's better than Hermida, but not by that much. What does it even matter though if there's a 0% chance the Marlins get him? Fact is, he has a contract with $60 million left on it, and Hermida doesn't. Hermida is almost as good as Rios, and he's three years younger, meaning, Hermida is more valuable right now.

August 8, 200915 yr Author Rios contract is the issue here. but if it wasnt i think the majority of people would pick rios, he's proven more. Hermida was supossed to be good by now. I dont see Jeremy having good seasons.
