Well, before Beckett. Anyone know?

Babe Ruth

The Babe in Game 1 of the 1918 World Series

cool now Beckett and the Babe are being mentioned in the same sentence.

thats insane.

on a side note, ive realized that today was 6 years since Livan's 15 K game against Atlanta... coincidence?

And that, also, was Game 5 of the NLCS.

THE CURSE OF THE BECKETT. WATCH OUT CHICAGO FANS.

It's also been six years since that date....So it was also on the same day of the week,Sunday.

yep, i realized it because Saturday is my birthday and Game 1 of the World Series, and that was also the case in '97. Tuesday is also 6 years since we clinced the pennant... also on a tuesday

Sunday, October 12

Livan Hernandez holds the Braves to three hits and beats Greg Maddux, 2-1, in Game 5. Bobby Bonilla goes 3-for-3 for the Marlins.

Beckett has been my favorite pitcher all season. i knew he would pull through for us today.

i cant wait till we see him and AJ together in a season, but lets focus on the task at hand... making it 96 years and shutting up those abnoxious scrub fans.

AJ

Josh

Brad

Dontrelle

Mark

Carl

The future is bright :D

Beckett should be mentioned before Burnett.

Beckett should be mentioned before Burnett.

arguable

Beckett should be mentioned before Burnett.

I think they are both of equal awesomeness (Strongbad reference :D ). But AJ is my fav Marlins pitcher, so he goes first. Naturally.

I miss AJ terribly but Beckett has eased the pain :lol i think with both of them starting next season we will be unstopable. watch out Atlanta you shall be dethroned soon enough.

Holy s***, someone start printing up the 2004 NL East division title banner :D

me thinks Penny wont be back

me thinks Penny wont be back

Even if he isn't, still straight bad a**. You would have to look at it as AJ vs Brad in that sense, and I think it is quite obvious that AJ > Brad.

But I think the Marlins will make it a priority to keep that entire pitching staff together.

They are crazy if they don't, the marlins have the best young pitching staff in the whole league IMO.

Miguel Cabrera reminds me A LOT of Albert Pujols in his ability to kill the ball at the plate and play multiple positions in the field. Then Pierre and Castillo at the top, Encarnacion, probably Pudge still, Lowell MAYBE...but even if not, still a good lineup. They are my NL East favorites in 2004.
