May 13, 200719 yr Can Carroll play center? I was going to ask the same question. He has been looking pretty good in AAA and hopefully he will get a chance sometime soon. It cant hurt, everyone else who starts in center is doing pretty meh.
May 14, 200719 yr yep He can and has played it in the past, but am I correct that he doesn't play it well? He is mostly a corner OF, can play CF if needed but doesn't really have the best range/speed out there,right?

And he likes to run into walls. He also has a 70 arm Who is this Grant Psomas guy? I always thought he played 3B - did he switch to 1B? He moved to 1b this year Lee Mitchell is tearing it up at 3b, but Psomas could move to 2b if Brad McCann gets called up
May 14, 200719 yr Can Hermida play center? He always seemed like a good CF to me...good speed and a (I believe) good arm. With corner outfielder being easier to fill then CF, I didn't really understand why Hermida wasn't moved to center.
May 14, 200719 yr I don't see Carroll getting a shot until next year unless he is absolutely lighting the world on fire in July. The sheer numbers of mediocre players that are going to or are getting a shot right now are going to keep that from happening.
May 14, 200719 yr Harvey Garcia was a beast today. Just wish he would show more consistency. If he can do that I could see him getting fasttracked to the big club should any of our bullpen arms go down.
May 14, 200719 yr If this is really as workable as the inventors claim then it will catch on somewhere. It just might take a few centuries. But I'm wondering how much velocity is generated and whether or not it is easily hittable.
