July 25, 200719 yr Yes! Finally my beloved Haunted Mansion gets the makeover it deserves. 25 July 2007: Haunted Mansion details begin to emerge Some exciting information is beginning to materialize regarding the currently in-progress Haunted Mansion refurbishment. Besides upgrades to the audio, lighting and special effects systems, the floating Madame Leota head and the Haunted Bride from Disneyland will both be installed, and best of all, they have both been improved on since the Disneyland installation. Another great addition to the mansion will be a completely new scene, taking place in the former spider scene. It's an all new multiple staircase scene, unique to Florida's mansion. There will also be other additions throughout the attraction scenes, including new props. The new improved Haunted Mansion is set to open in September 2007. Don't expect it to reopen early though, as the timescales are apparently very tight to get everything completed. http://www.wdwmagic.com/magic.htm If anyones wants to see what these effects look like, go here... Floating Madame Leota: New Bride: Somebody posted this picture of what looks like a model of what the staircase may look like. It's legit. And if you look in the background, you can see some concept art of Madame Leota's new makeover and what looks like the new bride.
July 25, 200719 yr Thanks for posting. I'm looking forward to see the new changes to the HM when I go in December.
July 25, 200719 yr Author You're welcome. I'm really excited because ever since I saw the additions from DL on YouTube, I was jealous and wanted it for WDW. I am glad that we will see the day.
July 25, 200719 yr Wow these changes look good. Havent been to DW in a while but this might make me go back.
July 25, 200719 yr If there's one Disney Ride that was in need of an overhaul, Haunted Mansion was it. Still, the best part of the whole ride will always be the tombstones outside.
July 25, 200719 yr The floating Leota effect, and Constance too? And a whole new scene to boot? Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!
July 26, 200719 yr I guess that explains why it was closed when I went last month. Always open to change - even on the classic rides.
July 26, 200719 yr Author I'm also glad they're finally getting rid of those hideous spiders. They look so cheesy.
