I realize he will most likely be gone next year but its really nice that he'll be in camp and playing all year. You know hes going to have a lot of eyes on him so a monster year could be in order. Add that to a healthy Tommie Harris and Mike Brown, this defense will make another run at the super bowl. Also, Bears signed Vasher and Tillman to long term deals. Very happy about that.

The two-time Pro Bowl linebacker will be at training camp in person after agreeing Wednesday to sign a one-year contract with the Bears for the 2007 franchise tender amount of $7.2 million.

Well he has to feed his family doesn't he?

I also read part of the deal is that the Bears promised not to franchise him next year as long as he plays 75% of the snaps this season.

Yea, the writing was on the wall. Bears know they have the team to go to the super bowl and they just want him to be quiet, come to camp on time and play this year. Next year he can cash in, all the while making 7+ mil this year. Bears have a couple young guys they like behind him and with all the new deals, bears cant afford him.

Im surprised. I thought he would really hold out. I think theyll do it next year since he cant stick to his word.

Wonderful offseason for the Bears even though they've got so much bad press with Tank Johnson and Lance Briggs.

Positives:

Every draft pick signed early

No Holdouts

Briggs in camp on time

Tommie Harris and Mike Brown at 100%

Additions of Anthony Adams and Adam Archuletta (and a healthy dvoracek) to the defense

Basically 4 new weapons to the offense (Hester, Wolfe, Olsen, Mark Bradley healthy)
