October 18, 200322 yr I think they need Solid Starting Pitching! Good Pitching beats good hitting any day of the week!!
October 18, 200322 yr I say starting pitching but you need a little of everything but a lot of startin pitching
October 18, 200322 yr I think Starting Pitching is most important. Confidence, Chemistry, Speed, and Aggresive Hitting are all things that the Marlins automatically have IMO, and they won't change no matter who they play. Those 4 factors are how the Marlins got here, and they will be the main problems the Yankees have to contend with all series no matter what. I think the bullpen will be fine too, so therefore I think the choice here is starting pitching. Starting Pitching could be the difference in this series, and while I think the Marlins will hit the Yanks starters well, I think the Marlins will still need and will also get some good starting pitching to win this series.
October 18, 200322 yr You need solid starts that will get the ball into Urbina's hands with a 2 run lead. If Penny doesn't own the strike zone tonight, he is going to get lit up.
October 18, 200322 yr Confidence is going to be huge in this Series. Whichever team gets it first will win the thing.
October 18, 200322 yr Author Confidence is going to be huge in this Series. Whichever team gets it first will win the thing. The thing is called the World Series lol
October 18, 200322 yr yes but arizona had very solid starting pitching every game but lost 2 games because of the bullpen
October 18, 200322 yr In every other facet of the game we have played very well...if we get good quality starts, we win this series. If we got quality starts last series, it wouldnt have gone 7 games... Our offense is going to score runs. With Cabs and Lowell in the lineup, we have put up 8 runs and 9 runs - on the road, in Chicago against Prior and Wood! Confidence?! This team has got that...it just needs to have the pitching step up. Beckett cant pitch every night!
October 21, 200322 yr All of the above. But defense can do more to cover for average pitching and weak bats, than slugging or pitching can.
October 21, 200322 yr Solid Starting Pitching! Only member of the Yankees rotation that scares me is Pettite and he's done for a couple of games. Wells, Mussina and Clemens are all very hitable and Josh Beckett, Carl Pavano and Brad Penny must all come up big in these next three games if the Marlins are to win the series.
