August 7, 200718 yr Im going on vacation there next week so if anyone leaves near there, can you tell me if you get the Marlins games?
August 7, 200718 yr Yes, on FSN Florida (and Sun Sports depending on the source) Update: Like everywhere else around Lee County, the Town of Fort Myers Beach & Estero Island (where FMB is) are served by Comcast. FSN Florida is channel 56. (Sun Sports is channel 57, but Comcast SWFLA doesn't have a deal to air the extra 55 games.) Where are you staying? They may have a Dish instead.
August 7, 200718 yr Yo, if you have any question bout The Fort, Im your man. Suggestion. 1) go to sanibel and eat at the lazy flamingo (take a right on Periwinkle and directly to your right after the first right)(shameless advertising for my friend). Or go to the Mucky Duck, but you will need detailed directions. 2) Beach is great, but on wet days, the movie theater at Bell tower or at One of the big shopping centers (either gulf coast or cocunut point). Good shopping as well. Which Hotel you staying at, i can give you good places just around the corner. Hope i can be of service.
August 7, 200718 yr Author Im staying at this condo called Santa Maria. They're apartments next to the bay and next to the beach as well. Any more advice I would appreciate it. Santa Maria Harbour Resort to be exact.
August 7, 200718 yr Author The resorts website says its cable tv, so Im guessing its Comcast. Its also located on Estero Bay, so thats the exact location of the hotel. So anyone know of anything to do there?
August 7, 200718 yr You can also catch alot of fish just about anywhere on fort myers beach, if you want to fish, it shouldnt be too hard to catch any. btw are there really only 2 other people on this board that live in the cape/fort myers area?

Think we had 1 more from Lehigh and a couple of Neapolitians.
August 7, 200718 yr I don't post much, but I live in Ft Myers too. If they have comcast where you're staying, you'll get screwed out of about half the games. Hope you like the Drays, they show them instead usually when the games get moved to Sunsports.
August 7, 200718 yr Yes they do for FSN games. I used to go to Ft. Myers Beach every summer, it's way better than any Gold Coast beach, you just gotta watch out for those damn stingrays. I stayed at Santa Maria once, it's kinda meh since it's not on the beach.
August 7, 200718 yr You will get all the games on FSN Florida (95 in total during the season) via Comcast Channel 56. If your place has a Dish, then you get what they provide from FSN Florida and Sun Sports. If you are just coming for the vacation, you should be able to watch the games without issue. AM 770 also airs Marlins games: http://www.am770.com/index.php?page=25
August 7, 200718 yr Author Thanks, on the other side of Santa Maria, you have the beach, so that doesent concern me. Anyone know of anything to do there? And I dont mean museums and all of that.

Shopping in Estero (Miromar Outlets & Coconut Point Town Center) or Fort Myers (Bell Tower Shops& Gulf Coast Town Center) is fun...and I don't like shopping. If you like museums, the Edison & Ford Estates on McGregor in Fort Myers are interesting. Times Square on FMB is nice. FMB is nice generally.....if you want to kick it up a notch, cross the bridges to Sanibel & Captiva Islands. You are staying on the southern & quieter end of Estero Island, but the trip up to Times Square is kinda cool. Near you is Lover's Key State Park if you enjoy that. Over in my neck of the woods, Cape Coral, you have Sun Splash on Lake Kennedy for those who like water parks. FMB has some mini golf places that can be a ton of fun at night. You can take a Trolley up and down the beach if you don't want to walk all along Estero Island/move your car for every thing.
August 8, 200718 yr Wait a minute!!! Is your father going to drive (illegally) from Weston to Fort Myers Beach!?!?!?
August 8, 200718 yr Sorry Capefish, but sunsplash is not worth the trip. Nice Dinner movie theater on the island
August 8, 200718 yr Thanks, on the other side of Santa Maria, you have the beach, so that doesent concern me. Anyone know of anything to do there? And I dont mean museums and all of that. They have Hooters in FMB. Is that what you mean? Lanai Kai, etc?
August 8, 200718 yr Wait a minute!!! Is your father going to drive (illegally) from Weston to Fort Myers Beach!?!?!? I was wondering the same thing.
August 8, 200718 yr Sorry Capefish, but sunsplash is not worth the trip. Hey, I don't know how old he is, so I told him pretty much all I could think of. I was guessing younger rather than older. But FMB is pretty much all you need if you like to swim......I love those beaches. FMB Hotties FTW
