  1. aren't marbury and randolph both considered cancers for teams. Ever since Marbury left Minnesota I have heard nothing but bad things. Smush was good for the Lakers, why has he fallen off so much, playing time? Smush was never good and his playing time fell off last year with the Lakers when he was also benched by them at the end of the season. As far as with the Heat, he sucks, hes Smush f***ing Parker and he also gets into fights in parking lots.
  2. On the other hand - how can you hate Giants fans? Easily.
  3. I still can't believe we gave up Kotsay to the Padres for Dan Miceli. What was the reason behind that? Educate me. Seriously? We didn't We traded Kotsay for Eric Owens and Matt Clement Seriously educated
  4. I guess when the media is finished they can get back to telling you what to think of players.
  5. Yeah, lets gang up on TO because Jimmy Johnson says if he says he matured, then its all an act! I couldn't care less about what Jimmy Johnson says. In fact, I had no idea he said anything. Im using Jimmy Johnson here to mean the media as a whole. Everybody buys into the stupid sh*t the media tells them.

  7. He ain't all that ? He's all right. Reggie Nelson on Tom Brady "It was a check down game," Nelson said, suggesting that most of Brady's completions were short and underneath the pass coverage. "Anybody can go 26-of-28 in a dump-down game."
  8. *not sure if douchbag is one word or two but he's both
  9. omg Cromartie damn, holding nullifies the td He's good. And to think, none of them (The NFL on CBS guys, I mean) said he'd get an INT, and he gets screwed out of the Pick-6. :mischief You use the face too much
  10. OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  11. Just to be clear, this is the post I was saying I agreed with: I would say a drug that gives you more energy through the course of the season would be a performance enchancer. Not sure why I'm debating this. You dont' seem to use your brain on this issue.
  12. its a PED vs a drug that is non PED so damn riight I can decide which is worse....we agree to disagree case closed Sigh. I agree with the post above this.
  13. Oh, dont know if this was mentioned, but the first couple dates of Gigantour announced and I recall it including Megadeath, Children of Bodom and In Flames.
  14. Where are all the Riley lovers that bashed me at the beginning of the season for saying it was a bad idea when he announced he was going to coach for at least 3 more years????? If you know someone who'd be a better coach than Riley, i'd like to hear it. Ugh
  15. As for using previous inductees as the primary standard for admission...assume that we do use players like Puckett (short, less than outstanding careers), just think of all of the mediocre talent that will be placed alongside of names like Cobb, Ruth, and Mays. Just because a mistake was made doesn't mean that borderline players should benefit. The voters should take the necessary measures to ensure that the same thing does not happen again. I didnt say it should be the primary standard.
  16. I could also argue that if Rice played for the Twins for his career we wouldn't be having this conversation and I'd be able to see his plaque this summer. The biggest problem I have with your argument is that I feel you've been using faulty logic. This is a solid example. I'm merely posting the facts and evaluating him based on his actual performance. I feel like I have successfully exposed several holes in his game that could warrant his exclusion from the HOF. It is nonsensical to reduce this discussion by comparing him to players already in the Hall (as this discussion is about "should?" not "will?") and making baseless conjecture on what his career would have been like out of Boston. That gets us nowhere. It is what it is. You also ignore a lot of facts offered and seem to stick to certain lesser facts of your own. Also, comparing him to players currently in the Hall has its place in whether a guy "should" get in or not and not just "will" he get in or not. Oh, and Fox isn't doing the same thing? The statistics indeed can be spun, but I don't see any glaring omissions. And as I have already indicated, I find your second point to be rather fallacious. I couldn't agree more with statistics can be spun but I still dont see how my second point is fallacious. I can see where you're coming from, but current HOFers are in for a reason (deserved it/those who decide who deserves it believed they deserved it) so if another player matches up favorably with guys who are Hall of Famers and people perceive to deserve to be Hall of Famers..... well.... then I can see a case to be made for those players to be in the Hall as well. I do agree with this though from the previous page a case can certainly be made for his induction but at the same time I don't think it is absurd that he has been repeatedly denied admission.

  18. A plus one is fundamentally retarted. Either go to a full-borne playoff of at least 8 teams or save the trouble and keep the current broken system. Not at all. In the plus 1 format, the 1 and 2 ranked teams do NOT play each other in the bowl games. For example it could have been Ohio State vs USC in the rose and LSU vs Kansas in sugar bowl, west viriginia vs oklahoma and georgia vs va tech. Once the dust settles in the 4 bcs bowls, then you take the two top ranked teams and have them play in a plus one. This way several teams are invovled in the hunt for the title, and gives meaning to all the bcs games. The bowl format is not changed and essentially the two best teams will play in the plus one to determine the true champion. The chances of this happening over a full blow playoffs are a 100 times more likely imo. The reason being is that there still will be 5 bcs games, the rest of the bowls stay in tact, it doenst compromise the regular season and it doesnt make the season any longer. I cant imagine three teams winning handily in the games and one being left out of the title game with the same amount of losses as a team picked to play in the title game and being upset.
  19. I was looking for thise earlier in the day and couldnt find it on any websites yet. What a guy though, at least he came back when it was really tough and now hes just thinking about the team.
  20. Kinda random question---- Is Stu Gotz his co-hosts' real name? My latin teacher called a kid in my class a "stugotz"...which I inferred to mean "idiot"...and I really doubt she listens to 790. This has been bothering me for awhile.. Isnt stugotz something to do with testicles? It was the name of a boat on the Sopranos I believe and means This dick or something similar in italian. Hank Goldberg gave him the name when they were both at 560.
  21. Wow.. good thing Eddie Altamonte doesn't actually have a vote... putting McGwire into the Hall, but not Bonds?? Hmmm.... You didn't understand my position at all. If Bonds is convicted there is tangible undisputed evidence of cheating, considering he doesn't have a history of injuries in his career that puts him in a category all by himself apart fom McGwire and apart from Clemons, as much as I hate Bonds for being an a**hole of monumental proportions, if he is acquitted he should be in the HOF. Considering the federal court system's history, very few people who are indicted and go to trial are ever acquitted. In my mind it just doesn't look good at all for Barry Lamar Bonds Whoa, what?!?! Really, so now we're letting people in who were accused of steroids that had a history of injuries but not those who were.... ummmm... accused of steroids.... ? What sets Bonds apart is that he is only one sweating bullets because of having to contemplate possibility of going to jail This is so ridiculous. What also sets him apart is that he had to testify in front of a judge and these other guys didnt. If a huge amount of other guys had the same thing happen, theyd also be sweating bullets about going to jail, how the f*** does that make any difference? Well others might have lied but they didn't, Bonds could have told the truth and he didn't If its fair to have Bonds testify in front of a jury, have em all do that and then see how many lie, and then see how hard "they" try to prove that those who lied did lie like they did with Bonds.
  22. Yeah, Wolf is the biggest joke of all. But Crush is perfect, in every way. Other than her, this is terrible.
  23. Some athletes have their day in the spotlight where they have that one-time f*** up/complete loss of common sense. Scott Olsen has had a handful of those days. The things you do in your personal life say a lot about your mental make-up on the field as well. He's childish and has shown time and time again that he folds in the face of adversity. Can anyone tell me honestly that they are psyched that Olsen is our probable OD starter? I'm not.
  24. corny as hell so far. Trying way too hard to be wrestling, the acting in the crowd and the sh*t theyre all saying is terrible. But Crush is f***ing amazing.
  25. Ladies and gentleman, our potential #1 starter: Olsen has had a history of disciplinary problems with The Marlins and legal issues. He was given a black eye from friend and former teammate Randy Messenger during the 2006 season and shortly after that then manager Joe Girardi pulled Olsen by the collar and confronted him. In a July 2006 7-6 loss to the New York Mets there was an incident involving his teammate, Miguel Cabrera. While pitching to Mets catcher Paul Lo Duca, LoDuca hit a hard grounder that glanced off Cabrera's glove and rolled into left field. A run scored and Lo Duca raced to second with a double. While the play glanced off of Cabrera's glove, Olsen seemed to believe that Cabrera did not give his full effort to get to the ball, and as they came off the field, Olsen could be seen shouting something at Cabrera. A moment later, television cameras showed Cabrera in the crowded dugout reaching past teammates to poke his finger at Olsen as the pitcher walked past him. Olsen tried to jab back at Cabrera, who charged Olsen and tried to kick the pitcher before both players were quickly separated by teammates. In September of 2006, Olsen said he hated the Phillies because they dominated the Marlins. His emotions boiled over in the sixth inning of a May 2007 game versus the Phillies, when he became angry at Chase Utley for calling time just before a pitch. The next pitch was ball four, and Utley trotted to first base as Olsen angrily shouted and waved his glove at him. In the bottom of the inning, the Marlins totaled four extra-base hits to rally against Cole Hamels. This led to some of the Phillies players disliking Olsen just like he dislikes them. In June of the 2007 season, he received an unspecified fine for making an obscene gesture towards fans in Milwaukee. His second problem of the year was when making a July 15 start against the Washington Nationals, Olsen had a confrontation with pitcher Sergio Mitre in the tunnel heading toward the team clubhouse. What happened behind the scenes wasn't pretty as Olsen ripped his jersey off and tossed it in the direction of a trainer. Mitre and other Marlins, according to the source, took exception to Olsen's actions. That's when tensions got hot. As they left the dugout area, Mitre pinned Olsen against a wall before the two were separated by teammates. Olsen then received a two game suspension for insubordination but was still scheduled to make his next start the following Friday against the Cincinnati Reds. After serving his two game suspension and after making his scheduled July 20, 2007 start, he was arrested by Aventura, Florida Police after refusing to pull over for being clocked at 48 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. He fled for about a mile, at which point he stopped at his home and sat in a plastic chair in the front yard. When police arrived and tried to arrest him, he kicked at the officers who then used a taser to subdue him. Olsen failed a field sobriety test and refused a breath test, he was booked on charges of driving under the influence, resisting arrest with violence and fleeing and eluding a police officer. :confused Im more concerned with his talent level than his history of disciplinary problems. Im not gonna make a guy with talent (not necessarily Olsen) the #2 starter instead of #1 because he has been in trouble before. If you feel strongly about it, Id think itd be a bigger deal that he is on the team at all than his spot in the rotation.
