"Love Bugs" Are Back

Featured Replies

I for one am glad that I don't have to do any highway driving for awhile, as everyday I see another person's car in Tallahassee smothered with the remains of hundreds of love bugs. They are also all over my apartment complex for some reason.

I had a hell of a time removing them from my car after driving back home to Miami from Tallahassee back in late April. I hate those things.

I also just read that they don't have any natural predators, primarily because they are extremely acidic to anything that might want to eat them.

Supposedly wiping the front of your car with one of those fabric softener cloths (before driving on the highway) makes them wash right off.

Good call, I've been seeing those around lately everywhere. I just don't get the whole butt-to-butt tandem flying concept. It looks cool for a time, then it just gets old.

According to what I read, they spend most of their time reproducing.

It is actually the females dragging around the males, frequently even after they are already dead.

The JetsMania Bug? :|

Oh, and I hate them because they love to get on my car....but at least I get the pleasure of ridding town of them.
