Red Sox trying to void Schillings Contract

Featured Replies

"It turns out that Schilling didn't disclose a shoulder injury that he has - one that he might need surgery for. He won't be ready for spring training and the Sox are trying to void his contract. No links yet - this one won't hit the wire for another 15-20 minutes."

This came from a Sox beat writer on another board seconds ago.

What does this matter to the Red Sox? They will still have enough money to buy their next championship.

Concur. The funny thing about this is how the Red Sox have absolutely zero loyalty towards a guy like Shilling, yet if Shilling had come out and said something like "I don't really care about the playoffs, if we lose, so what?, it's just a game." people would have vilified him in the worst way.

As fans we expect players like this to actually care about our team, but when teams like the Red Sox treat the players like this, why should they care?
