I feel like they have just dropped off the earth. At least I had heard a week or two ago that De Aza is close to coming back, but there has been no information (to my knowledge) on our three starters still on the DL.

 

Anybody know what the latest on these guys is?

Pitchers Josh Johnson (Tommy John elbow ligament-replacement surgery) and Anibal Sanchez (right shoulder surgery) are both on target to return in August, at the earliest.

 

Johnson had his surgery last August. Sanchez had a labrum tear repaired last June.

 

Of the two, Johnson appears slightly ahead of Sanchez,

I'm pretty sure that De Aza has been taking BP with the team somewhat recently.

well de aza is an ok upgrade defencively but a downgrade power standput

over jones right now de aza is just as good as him hitting wise but less power

but im guessing De aza will not start vs left handers so Ross' bat wont be out of the lineup

 

im just not a huge De Aza fan id rather have jones out there everyday or even jai miller lol

Where is Mitre? He can be a great boost to this crap shoot if he returns to 07's early season form. Maybe with all this time off, he won't tire out at the end of the season.

Mitre and De Aza are the two I barely care about here. Anibal and JJ are the only ones who will be with us past next season.

Considering all of the surgeries that Johnson has had, he can't afford to get reinjured. I figure that they will take their time in bringing him back.
