New Stadium Update

Featured Replies

I don't care where it's built as long as the fish get a new stadium... It take me close to 5 hours to get to PPS... I don't mind spending an extra hour driving to get to Downtown Miami.

When Palm Beach or Broward counties start talking about ponying $200 million then let's build a stadium there but until then Miami/Miami-Dade is the only game in town.

It's that simple.

For all it's shortcomings I'd still like to see a roof on PPS, it's as well situated to the three county area as anywhere. But that's just me.

I agree about PPS. But there is a little block on the road called Wayne.

Just build it and keep the name Florida Marlins and I will be happy. Oh, and add some more TV stations to the Marlins TV Network and force all the Radio affiliates along the Marlins network to air every game.

What are the chances that the Orange Bowl will be fitted for use of the Marlins is they can't get a new stadium?

they wont do that. PPS is already fitted to be a baseball stadium

speaking of old stadiums...

hey, can somebody tell me what the old miami stadium is used for, for most of the year? somebody told me once but i forgot.. damn that thing looks old

today i overheard something at work...

friends of the owner of the store came in and they were talking about the stadium. They said that the marlins couldnt get land in downtown to build it so they were looking for other options as far as location wise but are keeping it very hush hush. they mentioned that since this is a florida team and not just miami that people from other cities would not be willing to drive all the way to down town where there is no parking anyway. I don't know if that was just their opinion or if they actually heard this from someone of importance.

I wouldnt want the stadium to be too far away. I actually like the place where it is right now. If they built it in down town i suppose i could just take the metro or park at a friends house. I would hate for it to be in Palm Beach really. I go to a lot of games during the year and i doubt i would be able to afford the gas money :unsure :

whoa, broadway, which store is this that you work in?

well, itll never be in palm beach just because it's economically impossible to support a MLB franchise with the kind of sponsor $$ that comes from a small market such as palm beach. but i'm prayin they dont move to broward. it certainly wont help them attendance-wise

Wasn't the club going to get an additional $25M for the stadium just for renaming the team from Florida to Miami?

Wouldn't it be nice to have a bullet train around Florida... so I wouldn't have to drive 5 hours to Miami.

haha... i had totally forgotten for like 2 days how incompetent the voters of florida truly are

they have connections to an extent but they are more football fans than anything.

i have no idea if the people who came into the store know anything about anything. i'm just stating what i heard

where does the tri-rail stop again? i know it goes to Broward and most likely Palm Beach. i have never been on it. there's a tri/metro exchange station around hialeah. been awhile since i've been on it, but i know it doesnt go very far south in dade county. oh yeah, and its northern most stop is in north palm beach county
