It wouldn't be nice to have the Marlins play in a sh!thole...

um dont you think i meant the stadium would help change things

Wouldn't it be nice to have a bullet train around Florida... so I wouldn't have to drive 5 hours to Miami.

The bullet rain span from Tampa to Orlando is scheduled to open in 2005 I believe. Orlando to Miami and Tampa to St. Pete are the next legs in 2009ish.

Let me find the link for you guys.

Let me find the link for you guys. All the construction on I-4 is to widen I-4 to 6 lanes and to increase the size of the median for the bullet train which I don't know why... I-4 has a fairly large median.

In the last decade, florida voters approved an amendment into the Florida Constitution requiring that construction on a high speed corridor start by the end of 2003 and be finished by 2007.

Sorry about my stupity!

When my dad heard about how the Marlins could move to Miami Beach area he told me that we probably won't be able to get season tickets because it would take almost 1 hour and a 1/2 to get to the stadium. And he also doesn't like to drive in down town miami at 11:00pm at night!

Sorry about that, I hope you guys don't hate me now LoL! I just thought if they built the stadium in Ft. Lauderdale- Miami border it would be easier for some people to go JMO!

BTW: I am a true Marlins fan and I will always be one! :)

There is currently train service from Orlando to Miami and all points inbetween. Consider a yearly rail pass for around $249 that also includes some bus service.

If you live in the Tri-Rail zone consider that with some sort of bus transfer technique. The Marlins should push for a Golden Glades TriRail to Stadium shuttle for their game.

thats got to be the dumbest thing i have ever read

No offense Ramp, but the truth hurts!! You go where your team is, no matter where the stadium is located. Think people in New Jersey are pissed and don't go the games at Yankees Stadium??? My family lives about 30 to 45 minutes away from the stadium and gladly drive in order to get the train to the Stadium.

Anyone who says that they will never go to another Marlins game if they build a new stadium in downtown is sad and IMO has never really been a true fan. You follow your team no matter where they go!

Please, I would go to more games but my parents are so old and can only do so many things. My father and mother both love the Marlins and we try to go to as many games as we can, but it is so far and expensive. $10 for parking doesn't help us make the choice to go, on top of the fact we have to drive almost three hours. The Devil rays are one and half hours away on I-75 and the Skyway and have $5 and $10 parking. The Devil Rays also have a value meal with Hot dog, drink, snack for $4.50, the Marlins need something similar.

Ride gets longer on I-75. First you go south then turn east through Alligator Alley (plus pay $1.50 tolls on both sides).

OB plans call for a side-by-side approach. Buildings will share certain elements (like concession back shop and elevators).

The city owns the land already.

i think it's pretty clear that we'll have fan support for at least a couple years now

I sure hope so... However, if they trade a lot of our current players, do not count on it... If they trade them is a deal breaker for many.

We built Nationwide Arena (well, privately funded, so we didn't do it) on top of the old Ohio Pen in what was the crappiest part of our downtown and now that district is booming. It doesn't take much to revitalize areas.

For the past three seasons, the Marlins have offered a 4 for $44 plan. You get 4 nosebleed seats, 4 hot dogs, 4 sodas, 4 peanuts and 1 program. You must pay for parking, but it's a good deal. No, i know about that, but it only works for four people and it includes outfield seats now. the devil rays value meal is available at most of the food stands and is $4.50 by itself, no special ticket, coupon or voucher is needed.

Actually, that works pretty nicely for me & my girlfriend too. :)

Even paying for 4 tickets is a bargain for the two of us with all the goodies you get with it!

The Marlins used to have the Coca-Cola $10 Real Deal, but you had to buy the outfield ticket to get it.

The value meal is just that, you go up to the stand, pay you $4.50 and get your hot dog, soda, and Cracker Jacks! That is how the D-Rays have it and it is really good. The hot dog is nice and big, the soda selection is good and Cracker Jacks to help it all go down.

A stadium in Miami Arena would be pretty good even though it is a garbage area.

But the neighborhood around the OB is just as bad or worse and it is much more residential.

Miami Arena would be swell!

The best spot would be Bicenttenial Park but that ain't happening!

alot shorter.
