July 19, 200817 yr Anyone see his bit on FOX? He's a great tv personality, and even poked fun at his misfortunes this year. He will definitely have a future in broadcasting when he retires.
July 19, 200817 yr I caught from that "commercial" for a drink or something with the kids. Funny... I like Byrnes. He's sooo Mr. Cool. lol
July 20, 200817 yr byrnes is funny but sometimes he can be a stupid f***. :banghead :thumbup :shifty :cool :whistle
July 24, 200817 yr Out here his common nickname is Eric Mendoza He does have a good personality and his local radio spots are pretty straght forward and entertaining (maybe a little too unfiltered for a national audience) - i enjoy a lot of the stuff he does it was his personality, hustle and overall decent performance that endeared him to the fans ....... new ownership was reeling due to the negative fallout of letting go of gonzo and the color change so they ended up making a move to appease the fans and locking him up to a very rich contract (although intelligently short) now this year he's been terrible, fans are getting sick of what at times seems like uncecessary hustle and self promotion - saying part of the reason he's hurt is because he sometimes makes the routine look hard - hasn't really emerged as a leader amongst struggling young hitters on the club - refused to go on the DL earlier to let his hammys heal - is making a ton of cash for no results - carlos quinten is tearing it up and despite providing zero benefit to the club and a big contract he's all over TV laughing & joking what a difference a year makes sometimes

I respect the dude for the way he plays the game...tough break this year..you just know it's killing him that he can't play. I thought the skit was funny...because it was, and not many baseball players have enough personality to do stuff like that. Like I met Hermida last year when he was rehabbing with the Hammerheads in Sarasota, and he was so BLAH it was pathetic.
July 25, 200817 yr He is a "Class-A" goof ball. I enjoyed watching him tap dance in left field at dolphins stadium earlier this year. Not to mention he is the "crash test dummy" :lol
