July 30, 200818 yr Ron Artest has been traded to the Houston Rockets for a 2 players and 1st rounder in 2009.
July 30, 200818 yr McGrady, Yao, Artest, and Alston are a good core but they have to stay healthy (especially Yao and McGrady).
July 30, 200818 yr Once played for the Pacers. The Pacers once had Reggie. The Pacers were once good. I am sad.
July 30, 200818 yr Author I think it makes the Rockets a serious contender. They did win 54 games last year.
July 31, 200818 yr I think it makes the Rockets a serious contender. They did win 54 games last year. yeah but that was in the west, i think the Warriors won like 48 games and still didn't make the playoffs last year

August 1, 200818 yr Author Rockets are going to be amazing C Yao Pf Scholda SF artest SG Tmac Pg Rafer batier and some more talent on the bench do they have miles still o and MUTOMBO love that guy an his finger wag they will be a serious threat. The west is so strong that it is hard to consider them hgiher than a 3 seed next year, but if they mesh they can do it.
August 1, 200818 yr Is it just me, or are the Rockets one of those teams that always look good on paper, yet are never a threat to get past the first round?

August 1, 200818 yr Author Is it just me, or are the Rockets one of those teams that always look good on paper, yet are never a threat to get past the first round? Sort of like the Angels they are good every year but except for one they are out quick.

I think the worst is the Mariners team who won 116 games and couldn't do sh*t in the playoffs. That is tough.
August 11, 200817 yr i was pissed when i heard artest got traded. the kings are my favorite team and they've been making crappy moves these last couple of years. first they traded my favorite player, peja, for artest. then they trade away bibby who i didn't really like but was a decent PG. now they trade away the best player on our current team, damn it.

Man, being a Kings fan is just as hard as being a Sonics fan! :notworthy

Marino took them to a Super Bowl and a conference title game, the Rockets can't even get out of the first round in this era. Bad comparison.
August 11, 200817 yr even with the acquisition of artest the rockets aren't top 4 in the west. hornets, lakers, spurs, and jazz are better than the rockets. then there's the health concerns of t-mac and yao. also the supporting cast of alston, scola, barry, and battier need to play consistant. i think that the rockets have two of the most overrated players in the NBA in yao and battier. i'm not saying yao isn't good because he's an all-star but he's too soft and battier doesn't do enough to get the credit that the NBA gives him as a defensive stopper.
