Marlins chasing relievers

The Miami Herald is reporting that the Marlins might be close to a deal for lefty reliever Arthur Rhodes. If so, it would cross one potential suitor off the list for Reds reliever Jeremy Affeldt.

Florida recently dispatched a scout to look at both Affeldt and righty David Weathers -- both of whom could be available for the right price.

Weathers is soooo available it's silly. He's a free agent and Cincy is going to get zip for him if they don't move him in the next 24 hours.

what happened to the George Sherrill talks? They are dead? :confused

According to Some additional notes from ESPN's Jayson Stark:

The Marlins are making it clear that there is no done deal for Arthur Rhodes. Clark Spencer had written the Fish "could be closer" to a deal for Rhodes than a catcher. Stark says the Mariners are driving a hard bargain for Rhodes, with the Red Sox, Marlins, Phillies, Brewers, Tigers, Mets, Cardinals, and Rays checking in
