  1. You guys are delusional if you think we can get Ogando for Cantu. If Cantu does indeed get traded to the Rangers I expect it will be for 2 C to C+ level prospects Prospects like: Neil Ramirez, Tim Murphy, Richard Bleier, Shawn Blackwell, Trevor Hurley, Matt Thompson
  2. Neal just finished A+, I don't know how you can say that is MLB ready. His AFL wasn't that great either, .284/.384/.392? It's less than 100 PA, but very nice? He's not a bad prospect. But that's the best piece you can get for Uggla? He is SF's top prospect after Madison, Posey, and Wheeler (who is to young to trade). I don't know if he is centerpiece quality. He is a 2nd guy to add to a package. Just like Runzler, another 2nd guy to add to a package. Combined, they still don't make it to a "centerpiece" piece for Uggla. I don't know.... I believe Neal is a legit B prospect and Runzler I would say is a B- because of iffy control. Combined I believe they do equal center piece quality. The way I see it we are getting we are getting: Neal = better version of Scott Cousins Runzler = better version of Daniel Jennings A.King/Crawford/Noonan = Brad Hand/Jake Smolinski type I would be happy for the above ^ package in exchange for Uggla. Maybe we can also ask for Roger Kieschnick or Waldis Jacquin to be that 3rd piece but doubt the Giants will go that far.
  3. #Marlins Rays remain the team I keep hearing for Lindstrom. http://twitter.com/JoeFrisaro I can see Lindstrom being traded for (LHP) David Newmann. If we get something better than that from Tampa I will pleasantly surprised.
  4. I'm not that much upset about the fact of trading JJ after the contract breaking down. It's the thought of DA Yankees getting JJ which disgusts me. If we can't agree to a deal, and the "DA Yankees" want to offer http://riveraveblues.com/2009/11/going-after-the-big-fish-20278/... then goodbye, JJ. Totally agree. Especially for something like P.Hughes, J.Montero, Manny Banuelos, and Arodys Vizcaino/Zach McAllister for Johnson
  5. What about Logan Morrison and Jose Ceda? I believe both are eligible

  7. I don't see Weathers as much of an upgrade to be honest. The ERA is solid but nothing else is.
  8. Guys please stop mentioning Sherrill because for one he is overrated and two he will cost us alot more than Fuentes, think Morrison, Coughlan, and Andino or something like that. Trade winds Scouts from the St. Louis Cardinals and the Milwaukee Brewers, the two most aggressive suitors for Orioles closer George Sherrill, attended last night's game. The Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies, Florida Marlins and Detroit Tigers were also among the teams represented. With second baseman Brian Roberts unlikely to be traded during the season, Sherrill has become the club's biggest trade chip, attracting inquiries from nearly 10 teams. A source with knowledge of the Orioles' thinking said the club is looking for two, if not three prospects in return for the reliever. If Sherrill, 31, is traded, it will likely be just before the July31 nonwaiver trade deadline. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/basebal...0,1048863.story
  9. This is hilarious... Bay: The Pirates are asking for four players back -- two sure-thing young players, one good prospect and a fourth prospect with upside. Nady: A similar package, except they want three players instead of four -- one sure thing, one good prospect and a third, more iffy, prospect. Marte: The Pirates seem confident he'll be a Type A free agent, so they're telling teams they need to do better than the first-round pick and sandwich pick they'd get if he walks. Grabow: Because Grabow can't be a free agent until after next season, the Pirates are looking for a similar package on him as they're asking on Marte. Wilson: One rumor -- heavily denied -- is that they asked the Dodgers for Matt Kemp and/or Chad Billingsley for Wilson. But everyone agrees they want two or three players, depending on who they are, all of whom have to be big-league ready. The Pirates are free to ask for whatever they want, obviously. But many teams find it tough to stomach the rationale behind placing that kind of price sticker on somebody like Marte. "It may be true that Marte will wind up being a Type A," says an official of one club. "But isn't it possible that because he's a Type A, no one is going to want to sign him? Is a team really going to want to give up a first-round pick for Damaso Marte? I think that answer may be no. So I don't know if it's as reasonable to ask what they're asking for him as they think it is." At this point I rather not make any deals.
  10. Indications are that the Phillies, Rays, Marlins, Angels, Cardinals, Yankees, Dodgers and Red Sox all maintain some level of interest in Fuentes. But they've gotten down to specific name-swapping with only a couple of those teams -- believed to be the Marlins and Yankees -- and neither has made it past the shopping-list phase. O'Dowd continues to tell other teams that if they're not willing to cough up a top-of-the-line prospect and a secondary player, he'll happily hang onto Fuentes and take his two compensation picks. And that price hasn't wavered even a smidgeon. So an official of one interested team says: "I think their plan is to take him right to the deadline and see who blinks at the end"
  11. I wonder if our two Gabys would work. I doubt it, but if that's all it took I would do the deal. Just throwing out a crazy idea out there but what about a Dan Uggla for Houston Street, Gio Gonzalez, Mark Ellis. -Gio Gonzalez can go straight to our bullpen and he has always been tough on lefties I believe. -Houston Street can become our closer/set-up -Mark Ellis is a stop gap, though he is in a pretty big slump right now, he is a free agent at the end of the year and we either will get 2 picks or 1 for him as long as we offer him arbitration. Again just a crazy idea, zero chance of it happening but just throwing it out there Is this the Gio Gonzalez from Pace? Yes sir

  13. I say pass. Beane would likely want 2/3 from Vanden Hurk, Tucker, West, G. Sanchez, Raynor, Morrison, Dominguez. To be honest I think I rather just keep the prospects and when Anibal Sanchez comes back stick Vanden Hurk in the pen. I don't think Vanden Hurk is MLB ready starter but do think he MLB as a reliver.
  14. 2009 team C Baker/Treanor/ trade 1B Cantu/G. Sanchez 2B Uggla/Coughlan 3B McPherson/Uggla SS Ramirez LF Raynor/Ross CF Maybin/Ross I think we should have a RF, no? lol forgot Hermida
  15. I think we can keep the core intact but don't think we can keep everybody nor do I want them to. Guys who can IMO: Williangham, Jacobs, J.Miller, Gardner, Olsen 2009 team C Baker/Treanor/ trade 1B Cantu/G. Sanchez 2B Uggla/Coughlan 3B McPherson/Uggla SS Ramirez LF Raynor/Ross CF Maybin/Ross RF Hermida Starters 5 (in no order) Johnson Noalsco Miller Sanchez Voldstad Bullpen (this is the most difficult to predict) Gregg Pinto Tucker ?? ?? ?? I think we can have a pretty sexy team for 33-40 mil or maybe even slightly less.
  16. What sucks is they only had to give up Emilio Bonifacio. If this is true we fuk up big time. Rauch > Fuentes, plus we would have had him under control for 2 more years!!!!!! I doubt the Nats would have traded within the division. Plus, Bonafacio is their 6th best prospect and was having a pretty good year in AAA Tucson. It's not like the Nats just gave Rauch away. Coughlan is a better prospect and that good year is pretty average and in a hitters league. http://www.baseballamerica.com/statistics/...ds/?pl_id=83529 First of all, If we traded Coghlan for Jon Rauch, I'd blow a gasket. Secondly, like I said before, I don't think the Nats would have traded within the division. Not that I am the biggest fan of Dan Uggla in the world or anything but what are we planning on doing with Coughlan then? Maybe Washington doesn't trade within the division but they clearly got raped and Coughlan would have been an upgrade over Bonaficio. Coghlan will be our 2B, once Uggla is ready for his big payday. I actually think the front office trades Uggla for prospects, before he becomes a free agent, and Coghlan will take his place at 2B. I hope that's the case but if we are going to do this, then better sooner than later because I only see Uggla value going down.

  18. rotoworld.com agrees with me Nationals acquired second baseman-outfielder Emilio Bonifacio from the Diamondbacks for RHP Jon Rauch. If Jim Bowden wasn't already on the way out, this should do it. He just traded one of the best relievers in the market for a single prospect who isn't at all likely to become an adequate regular. Losing Rauch will hardly doom the franchise when it's ready to contend in 2010 at the earliest, but Bowden should have done a lot better or just kept his reliever, who wasn't going to be a free agent until after 2010. Bonifacio will go to Triple-A for now, but the Nats will probably give him a shot at second base in August. His speed might give him some fantasy value then, but he projects as a long-term reserve.

  21. Meh on Weathers. Just saw his splits away and they ain't that good. Sure his ERA is low but he has been pretty lucky. Weathers allows to many hits and walks, and his K's are down. If we are dealing with the Reds I would much rather have Jeremy Affledt. (Not that I am a fan)
  22. Us trading Jacobs is good news, just don't think Jacobs will net us a good reliver or anything. If we do end up trading a bat for a reliver it's more likely to be Josh Williangham. Other wise will trade prospects such as Vanden Hurk, West, Petersen, Cousins, Sanchez, etc... for a reliver Why is it more likely that Hammer is moved?? I don't think the FO would move him unless they are blown away. Jacobs, on the other hand, could probably be had for a run of the mill reliever. Jacobs is what you call a below average 1st baseman and even if he where a DH in the American league he would still be below average. The homers are nice but Jacobs can't make consistent contact, take walks, or play defense and on top of that is very injury prone. Look around baseball how many teams need a 1B? Probably the Giants, Mariners and that about it. On the other hand Williangham is average to slightly above average. Teams like the Blue Jays, Dbacks for example should be interested

  24. even while in contention the A's are still rebuilding I wish we did this We already do. Do you not remember the Cabrera/Willis trade? We made that move and are still contending. I meant like during season.
