  1. At this point even if we picked him he wouldn't even be in the major leagues with us, much less have a bigger role with us than he did in Toronto (6th or 7th inning guy). I really think it's time to stop thinking about our bullpen, and start focusing on bringing another bat, such as Teahen or maybe a Felipe Lopez (good and versatile bat to have).
  2. Both Williamson and Donnelly have had a lot of post season experience, not to mention pitching in World Series'. Williamson with the Red Sox and Donnelly with both the Red Sox and Angels. It's always good to stock pile arms when August rolls around. Guys like Pinto (who usually struggles late in the season) are being put on notice that any signs of ineffectiveness will send you straight to New Orleans. I also loves how Donnelly pitched last night, he looks like he has regained the form he once had in Anaheim. I would rather have these 3 guys then have to give up Gaby Sanchez for Delcarmen. Who knows Gaby might be a big part of the team in August or September.
  3. Last year me and my friend went to the one at at the bar on Flagler street. It was actually really fun, we were like the only ones there who were for the event. We got to talk to Hermida, Henry Owens, Logan Kensing, Anibal Sanchez, and Andrew Miller for a while. We also got a bunch of autographs and free stuff (VIP Passes to FanFest included). I am gonna try to make it to JJ Muggs this year. They should have more stops in the Palm Beach area.
  4. 2009: Maybin, Hanley, Volstad. Ahhh Yeah!! 2009: Got Prospects? 2009: The Year of Shake and Bake 2009: If Hanley dosen't win MVP, no one can.
  5. I can see it both ways. He is still a young player with a lot of upside. I mean he was a top prospect in an organization with the likes of Howie Kendrick, Brandon Wood, Casey Kotchman, Ervin Santana, etc. Though I can see the other side of the arguement. There have been so many guys that have had big AAA seasons as D-Mac has had, but never really amounted to anything. That list includes Mike Hessman, Kevin Witt, Josh Phelps, and former Marlins AAA-er Robert Stratton. He also was unimpressive in his short stint with the Fish this year.
  6. I hope he does stay active with the club. I wouldn't mind seeing him work in the booth with Tommy and Rich. I thought he did a nice job filling in for Tommy at the end of the year. I liked his insight into the games, but u could tell he was definetly out of his element. Some people are just cut out for commentating, and he really isn't. I don't know if FSN allows 3 men booths. Every other team that uses FSN has only 2 men working. The only teams with 3 are the Mets and Yankees (sometimes) I believe.
  7. Bring him as a non-roster invitee, see what he's got in Spring Training. But I really think he is done as being a closer, even an 8th inning guy for that matter.
  8. I don't like it, I think we should've waited a little bit into the offseason. Maybe a teams starting 1B gets hurt, and their a little more desperate to pick up a guy like Jake. I think Jake has a great future, and he will defienelty excell in the AL, especially with the DH. I always liked Jake, he always had a great personality.?
  9. Right now the Marlins system have 2 MVP's: Logan Morrison-FSL, and Gaby Sanchez-Southern League. I think the Marlins should have two more on top of them. I don't know the stats of everyone in the Sally League, but Mike Stanton has got to win the MVP in that league. Another MVP the Marlins should have is Dallas McPherson in the PCL. Thoughts?
  10. A-Rod should be 3rd. Guys like Kemp, Wieters, and Billingsley have no business being on that list.
  11. Hammer has lost his swing, that he has had since he has been with the Fish. Also Herm has looked terrible at the plate lately. Should we send down one of them for a little while, and bring Maybin up. Right now I am leaning towards sending Herm down, kinda like what the Braves did with Francouer. Bring Maybin up, put him in center, and move Ross to right. Anything is better than what we are getting from our corner outfield spots, which usually should be two of the most productive positions offensively.
  12. I like it, but it's not enough.
  13. I don't know what Pujols is talking about. Hanley would really struggle at 3B, if he was put there. Hanley has made some great strides in improving his defense, and is very good at getting the tough ground balls, he just needs to get better with the routine one's. how would he greatly struggle? I would say, that you need to have your best fielder at 3B. It is very tough, you must have very quick reactions, and even better glove work. I just think Hanley is better suited at SS.
