August 1, 200817 yr Hansen their closer now? I doubt they are going to put a guy with an 5.58 ERA and a 1.696 WHIP in 30.2 IP this season as their closer. Don't be so surprised when he gets his shot. Pittsburgh's blowpen sucks. Capps is out for the year; Marte got traded. Hansen will get his chance.
August 1, 200817 yr And yes, Manny is much more feared, but that is based more on reputation than reality. That reputation allowed David Ortiz to get better pitches to hit. Expect that to go down quite a bit now.
