Who needs to be replaced to fix the strikeout problem?

Featured Replies

Obviously we've got too many free swingers in our lineup. The question is, which ones can we replace, still get good enough production, and prevent the strikeout problem?

1B, Mike Jacobs, obviously Dallas is a candidate.

2B, Dan Uggla, there is no way we can duplicate his production at that position.

CF, Cody Ross, we could start Amezaga more often, hopefully Maybin grows up really soon.

Cantu, Hanley, Hermida and Willingham aren't GREAT contact hitters, but they aren't nearly the problem that these other 3 are. If you're the Marlins GM, how do you fix this situation, both in the short term and the long term?

Well, the three players you mentioned...2 (Jacobs, Ross) WILL DEFINITELY be replaced after the year, and I don't see Uggla as the long-term solution, either.

Regarding this year...there is no solution.

And I'm not sure there's a solution, period. Maybin and McPherson aren't exactly good contact players.

If you ask me, K's are overrated.

Ryan Howard K's a lot...I'll take him on my team, anyday.
