The Forgotten Man - Tommy Phelps

Featured Replies

I think a lot of people are forgetting how good Tommy Phelps was out of the bullpen and starting when he was healthy. I didn't think he was terrible. He held left handed hitters to a .233 BA and his ERA as a realiver was 2.12.

It's not Chase Utley. It's Brett Myers. And I have him there because the picture looks hilarious.

Uh... there's only one way to get experience in the majors... to play... in the majors.

Tommy Phelps, I don't believe, is a long-term solution in the bullpen. He is a journeymen minor league free agent, much like Alvarez, Borland and Levrault. They all pitched well, but I'm sure the Marlins would like to go with younger guys.

A lot of people forget the job phelps did in may and June he had to come in as our 5th starter when everyone was hurt and he did a hell of a job. He struggled at the end of the year before he went on the DL but I believe it was from lack of playing time.
