October 30, 200322 yr I think a lot of people are forgetting how good Tommy Phelps was out of the bullpen and starting when he was healthy. I didn't think he was terrible. He held left handed hitters to a .233 BA and his ERA as a realiver was 2.12.

October 30, 200322 yr Tommy Phelps, I don't believe, is a long-term solution in the bullpen. He is a journeymen minor league free agent, much like Alvarez, Borland and Levrault. They all pitched well, but I'm sure the Marlins would like to go with younger guys.
October 30, 200322 yr A lot of people forget the job phelps did in may and June he had to come in as our 5th starter when everyone was hurt and he did a hell of a job. He struggled at the end of the year before he went on the DL but I believe it was from lack of playing time.
