August 16, 200817 yr And still no word 1 way or the other on Pedro Alvarez and Eric Hosmer. Buster Posey, Justin Smoak, Yonder Alonso and Allan Dykstra just signed. Cole and Crow have and will not sign. Which leaves Fields, who is a college senior and his deadline is not for another 10 months.
August 16, 200817 yr Author Updated news on Aaron Crow Nats offered 3.3 million, Crow wanted 4 million and the Nats let a incredibly talented SP go because of 700K. They will always suck.
August 16, 200817 yr Updated news on Aaron Crow Nats offered 3.3 million, Crow wanted 4 million and the Nats let a incredibly talented SP go because of 700K. They will always suck. :lol The best news I've heard all day, as a Marlins fan.
August 16, 200817 yr According to Baseball America, the Pirates signed Pedro Alvares for 6 mil. There were reports that Boras was demanding 10 mil, guess that didn't work. edit: Baseball America is also reporting that the Royals have come to an agreement with Eric Hosmer, but the figures are not yet known to the public.
August 16, 200817 yr Author Hosmer signed also. Crow, Cole and Fields only 1st rounders unsigned. Crow and Cole will be going to college. Fields was a college senior and has until a week before the 09 draft, I am sure even the Mariners can come to an agreement by then. Cole just wanted to go to college. Epic fail by the Nationals on Crow.
August 16, 200817 yr Guess the Nats are gonna eat crow on this one! Literally! bahahahaha, I crack myself up.
August 16, 200817 yr The Yankees appear to have signed all of their other picks besides Cole. Pretty sad that a team like the Nationals, which needs pitchers, couldn't pull the trigger.
August 16, 200817 yr so how many of the first round never ended up drafted? looked it up 2 :thumbup Yep. Just Aaron Crow (nats), and Gerrit Cole (yanks)
