September 1, 200818 yr Hey guys, was at the game today, unaware of the recent call-up, and looked out to the pen and saw somebody warming up, couldn't put a name to it, too far away to tell... ...Starts coming out the mound, "Is that... Andrew Miller? IT IS!" Then he continues to strike out the side, in quite the impressive fashion might I add, finishing it off with Chipper Jones. What are your thoughts on this very small scale test to see how he has improved and what role will he play in the Marlins orginization?
September 1, 200818 yr in regards to what role, he will be in the rotation come spring time imo then he has the stuff to develop into an ace - plenty of strikeouts!

He was with the team on Sunday, even did the picture taking thing in the Strike Zone before the game. Seems like a nice kid. A little overly shy, perhaps. I think Volstad gets shut down after another start or two and Andrew takes his spot in the rotation, if that knee holds up. Scotty gets traded this off season and Andrew fills his slot next year, if that knee holds up.

But think about it for a bit. Chris is nearing the most IPs in his career. He's a future regular with the team. Andrew could use some more starts to help him with his progression. We are out of the race. Would you keep sending a rookie out there and jeopordize his future health or replace him with another rookie who is also a future regular that needs the work for his developement? Just makes sense to me.
