Does anyone agree with me that the old ballparks, unless a risk to everyone, should have stayed, like kingdom, fulton stadium in atlanta, shea stadium, yankee stadium and so forth. I mean all the memories of watching basbeall games on tv in those stadiums is gone. I dont like any of the new stadiums b/c when I was a kid I always watched baseball in the old stadiums, and im a sentimental person, even when the marlins get into the new stadium, its going to be abit sad, the old memories of watching them in that stadium since 1993.

The memories remain etched in our minds and hearts forever. There doesn't need to be a physical building there to remind us about them. We also still have videos, pictures, etc. to remind us about them. Plus, think of all the new memories that are to be made in the newer parks.

I have mixed feelings about it. They still talk about Ebbet's Field and the Polo Grounds but they are long gone. I like the nostalgia but sometimes I feel like they focus too much on the ballpark. Until recently the only positive thing Red sox fans could talk about was good old Fenway. Same with the Cubs and Wrigley Field. It was too much about the park and not about the game IMO. But the game is played between the lines. Baseball endures no matter where they play it.

If you mean those great stadiums like Riverfront, Three Rivers, Busch, the Vet etc.... good riddance. The Kingdome?!??!? seriously does anyone miss that or the Astrodome or Olympic Stadium. While it is sad to lose a ballpark like Yankee Stadium, the new parks offer plenty especially camdem yards and they also offer more for a family. When the Marlins get thier new stadium will anyone miss Dolphin stadium. What is sad is see parks like Ebbets or the Polo Grounds bulldozed over with nary a reminder except a plaque of where a great ball park stood.

I miss the Astrodome. I became a baseball fan at that park. It was fantastic. The 8th Wonder of the World, they called it. And the scoreboard, it was a multimillion dollar miracle of modern science. The scoreboard was bigger than most buildings, about 4 stories tall, 10 stories wide.

Minute Maid blows it away, though.

Minute Maid stadium for me is very annoying, it sounds like an indoor pool facility and I hate the deep red shirts everyone wears.

First, it's Minute Maid Park, and not sure what you mean by it sounding like an "indoor pool facility".

And why do you hate that their fans actually wear their team color?
