Posted May 23, 200915 yr Don't get me wrong i'm as frustrated as everyone else is with the fish right now, but i thought it was time to get a little bit positive.I know i shouldn't really be comparing teams, but I was looking at the standings from 2003 and on May 22,2003 we were 19-29, 13.5 GB, and had lost 6 in a row. This season we are 19-23 (about to be 19-24) and are 4.0 GB. The season is young still and there is plenty of time left to get hot. Plus i'd rather lose now than lose in the later months of the season.
May 23, 200915 yr This team doesn't have half of what our 2003 team had, unless Stanton becomes the next Albert Pujols out of nowhere, gets called up years before he should, starts mashing the ball, our rotation doesn't look like sh*t ourside of JJ and Volstad, and everybody can learn to stay hot at the same time. These things seem like they are at least a year away from happening.
May 23, 200915 yr We can be as good as the 2003 team. Uggla, Ross, Ramirez, Cantu, Baker, and Hermida is a very good lineup. JJ, Volstad, Nolasco(when he gets it going and he will), and Miller(who's showing that he's finally getting it). If our bullpen keeps this up, we will be a very good team.
May 23, 200915 yr ^^^ is living in a dream land where everything goes right and all players live up to expectations. That's not how the real world works kid.

Hermida, Ramirez, Cantu, Ross, Ugga, and baker are all proven hitters. This is a good lineup. JJ and Volstad are good. Miller showed promise his last 2 games, so he might be coming around. Nolasco WILL come around. Guaranteed. He was too damn good last year to be this bad. And like i said, IF our bullpen stays the same, we will be a very good team. Just give us some damn time. You guys are acting as If it's September.
May 23, 200915 yr The difference between then and now is that the '03 team could actually field the ball and had four gold glovers.

I'd rather get the losing out of the way now, FWIW and play hot the rest of the year, a la 2003
