I was wondering how Bazardo was going these days. He just pitched a 2-hit 9-inning shutout of the Marlins AAA affiliate today.

For those who forgot, Bazardo was traded at the tail end of the 2005 season to the Mariners for now-retired Ron Villone.

Good on ya, Yorman!

lol villone is not retired

He's one of those guys that pops up form time to time and I say so thats where he is now. Bazardo is hands down one of the hardest guys that played for the Marlins for me to get an autograph from, finally got him after 3 years.

Best of luck to him and his amazing one and 2/3 innings pitched for the Marlins. Is it me or did anyone else get him and Ronald Belisario mixed up?

I'll always remember Yorman. We looked like we were gonna run away with the division in 2005 and then Burnett missed a start and we called up Bazardo and Frank Castillo. It was a dreadfully rainy day and through sporadic rain delays we played dreadful as well. And then after that game we continued playing dreadful and though we stuck in it until nearly the end, it was all patchwork by that point.

That one game always felt like the turning point of what was looking like a great season. We had some real deficiencies on that squad and they all started to show up after that game.

For the record that one game wasn't really Bazardo's fault as much as it was just a horrible game to make your debut in. He's still very young and could make a career given the opportunity.
