August 21, 200915 yr 16 game seasons are what's holding the NFL back. They are probably the highes $$ per game of any sport, but they dont have enough to sustain the payrolls like the MLB, NHL, or NBA. That's just my guess though from a very outside looking position... I dont really know the numbers on it or anything.
August 24, 200915 yr The NFL players union has been gearing up for this strike for years. I for one think that it'll be an absolute ****ing joke and will root very hard for whatever replacement players they bring in. As crazy as it seems, the NFL could do without its star players a lot easier than MLB because the game itself is so exciting. I've sat through 1-15 Dolphins seasons and still watched every game despite there being only 1 or 2 players on the entire team worth watching, and it won't make that much of a difference if those 1-2 guys are gone. If the players want to risk the future of their sport just to complain about the fact that the millions they are getting aren't enough, then they've lost my respect and I could care less if they ever set foot on a field again. I'd rather watch guys who are playing because they love the game and they love that they get the opportunity to compete in front of millions of people and make good money doing it.
