In NCAA Football, who is your team?

My defensive strategy (when building a team) is to get fast linebackers, huge d-linemen and tons of DBs. I pretty much run every play in the nickel formation and nothing else. My large DL occupy the O-Line allowing the LBs and DBs to run right to the ball on running plays and it gives me extra protection in the passing game, which I have no consistency with. I have games where teams throw for 50 yards and then I get lit up for 380. I'm always first in the nation against the run though.

Offensively, I'm never balanced. I usually run either all option or air it out. I threw for 5750 with Eli last season and I've got a freshman who looks like he's going to be a star.

Of course, all of this goes out the window when playing REAL people. Then I balance everything and I tend to be that guy who gets first downs on draws on 3rd and 15 while the other guy throws a fit.

Honestly, the stuff that works against the computer never works against people and vice versa, for me at least. I can't run draws on the computer ever, can't play action either, they kill me. But, against human opponents, those are money.

As for adding teams, I usually do one where I take out Troy State and take over a D-IAA team, it was Youngstown State on this one. I just hope they add the stadium stuff like they had on Madden next year. It'd be much cooler to build a new stadium when you turn a team into a powerhouse.

I upgrade-Degrade players (before starting a new dynasty). Right Now Crudup is Better than Berlin (crudup is an 86) in my dynasty and i start him.

OtherWise, I like starting a Dynasty with Marshall and USF. Them 2 and UM.

It is scary how similarly you play to me. I switch between all of two nickel defensive plays all game (vs both CPU and human). I always make sure to have a stud defensive backfield and two nice LBs, Middle LB being not too necessary because of the two LB set. I always lead the nation in rush defense, usually somewhere at 8-10 yards per game. At least half of my games I'll hold my opponent to negative rushing yards.

Passing I can either shut you down or get lit up. It is basically a toss up.

And don't even bother trying to figure me out on offense. I select plays based on my mood. I own on offense :cool

When I recruit, I try and recruit big and fast linebackers, because they are the focus of my defense, but when that's not possible, speed is the main priority. I recruit big defensive tackles and like with my lb's i try and recruit big and fast d end's, but when it comes down to it, speed is main priority. I recruit fast cornerbacks, not matter what their size is. I also recruit BIG safties, try and get them to be pretty fast, but i like the big safties who can blitz, defend the run, and hammer guys going over the middle. I run mainly 4-3 and 3-4 mixes on defense, and i blitz probably 75 percent of the time on first and second down, which is why i recruit fast corners that can cover 1 on 1. Then I try and get the other team into 3rd and long, which i drop into 3-4 zones or dime/nickel formations and let them throw underneath short of the 1st down.

On offense, I recruit fast quarterbacks so i can scramble with them. I also recruit big receivers, most recievers in recruting are fast, so i go after the tall/big ones. I also like to normally recruit 1 power and 1 speed back a year when needed, and I try and stack my o-line. I prefer to be a run first, play action pass second offense that busts people in the mouth running up the gut, and they kills them with the deep ball. I usually only throw short in 3rd and short situations, otherwise i try and hit 15+ yard passes when i throw.
