What about Billy Wagner?

Featured Replies

I really like the idea of going after Billy Wagner to close this season for the Marlins. He won't be getting top dollar and he looked really good for the Red Sox last season. I just don't like the idea of going into next season with Leo Nunez as the closer. I also like Takashi Saito, Octavio Dotel and Mike Gonzalez. If the Marlins shed enough payroll they should really consider bringing in a closer to protect the young starting pitchers. Nothing hurts a young pitcher more than giving a team seven good innings and then watching the bullpen blow the game.

We aren't going to spend $5+ million on a relief pitcher. We are going to spend $5 million on all 7 relief pitchers.
