November 17, 200322 yr omg what kind of thread is this? ramp ever since u say baerga getting 7-9 mill u got apeshit dumb man first of all moron, that was a joke... if you couldnt catch that than i feel very sorry for you secondly, in another thread people were talking about DLee over Piazza, so i said IF ALL MONEY IS EVEN, i dont care if someone wants to say we should use money in this instance, MY POLL HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MONEY also, lets remember Piazza was hurt last year... he is a career .320 hitter with 30+hr and 100+rbi the guy knows how to hit in the clutch and i would take him ANY f***ING DAY over DLee.... the human sucking machine anyone who disagrees, I WANT LEGIT REASONS WHY BRING IT I listed legit reasons...what are your counterpoints?
November 17, 200322 yr Author Sham you list their eqa's... or those from this year or career or past 3 or what?
November 17, 200322 yr Sham you list their eqa's... or those from this year or career or past 3 or what? They are from this past season which is pro-rated for Piazza obviously. I assume you are going to make the argument that Piazza's EqA will go back to career averages this upcoming season when he's fully recovered from injury, but I say unless he moves to first theres a high possiblity of him getting re-injured. And I only included EqA because it basically encompasses a players entire offensive talent and you probably understand it more than others here because you like BP if I remember.
November 17, 200322 yr Author i see what you are saying... i think(if Mike goes to 1B), he will have his usual stellar year....
November 17, 200322 yr i see what you are saying... i think(if Mike goes to 1B), he will have his usual stellar year.... I agree...and his defensive liability goes down because 1B isn't nearly as valuable as C defensively.
November 18, 200322 yr I'd rather have an outfielder at half their price. Anyways, Piazza doesn't want to play first base.
November 18, 200322 yr You can't even compare one of the best hitters in baseball to someone who just had their career year, and has been proven unable to perform in the clutch. There seems to be a tendency in this market, for the fans to want to cling to their players a little more than in more experienced areas. DLee is probably at the highest trade value possible, and will contribute to this team the most by bringing other talent in return for his departure. Much like his buddy, Cliffy, and P Dub. He is an excellent defensive first baseman, but the money can be better spent elsewhere.

Did you even read any of the posts? I have no problems with trading him, but if management doesn't think Stokes can put himself back together expect that to factor into Lee's future as he is entering into his prime offensive years.
