November 17, 200322 yr Gotta go with Piazza. He's consistently a good hitter... something we can't say about Derrek. The defense would be better with Derrek but overall Piazza wins out.
November 17, 200322 yr Lee. Ignorance. i think we need defense more at 1st base-and piazza dosent hit SO much better than Lee-we didnt need to have such a big hitter at 1st base 2 win the WS-and i dont think we need a powerfull hitter now.

Because Lee cannot produce to his fullest at PPS. He has CF power, and that doesn't fit the Pro. Piazza can hit it out to any field. He'd also hit a million doubles in those gaps. Outside of PPS, I'd probably take Lee. The Pro's demensions robbed him (according to Bill Robinson) of 12-15 HR's this season. If he had gotten those homers, it would have raised his avg, RBI, ect. Bottom line, in PPS: Piazza. Outside, Lee.

Outside, Lee. well, i had already deleted my post b/c i realized i didn't have the time to get into the PPS dimensions fight i really wanted to pick with you. i'll just say that i just found it difficult to believe that piazza gets the clear-cut advantage at the pro (see: "Ignorance."), while lee is the choice everywhere else. it's a pretty tough decision, and this poll ought to be very close. offense: piazza: .286 BA, .377 OBP, .483 SLG, .860 OPS lee: .271 BA, .379 OBP, .508 SLG, .888 OPS defense: you know what's up

November 17, 200322 yr I'd take Pizza so long as he played 140 games. Take into consideration he's injury prone and a liability throwing out runners behind the plate and he doesn't have much experience at first, I'd take Lee.
November 17, 200322 yr People could make a better decision if you told them which position (C or 1B) he would be playing, but I'll assume you mean catcher. And next I don't know why you would ignore salary which is hugely significant here (Piazza made 15 million last season...ranked 9th in ML) while Lee projects to make 8 million in arbitration, but I will try anyways. Lee's EqA is .307 while Piazza's is .301 not to mention Piazza is 7 years older and much more injury prone than the iron man that is Derrek Lee. I would agree with anybody who said Piazza is a better offensive player, but is it worth the risk of him being injured and/or declining rapidly due to age? I'd take Lee with or without salary as a factor, but honestly after doing research to answer this question I'm content in trading him for prospects and a ML ready reliever.
November 17, 200322 yr Author omg what kind of thread is this? ramp ever since u say baerga getting 7-9 mill u got apeshit dumb man first of all moron, that was a joke... if you couldnt catch that than i feel very sorry for you secondly, in another thread people were talking about DLee over Piazza, so i said IF ALL MONEY IS EVEN, i dont care if someone wants to say we should use money in this instance, MY POLL HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MONEY also, lets remember Piazza was hurt last year... he is a career .320 hitter with 30+hr and 100+rbi the guy knows how to hit in the clutch and i would take him ANY f***ING DAY over DLee.... the human sucking machine anyone who disagrees, I WANT LEGIT REASONS WHY BRING IT
