4/14---Marlins @ Phillies---7:00 Gametime

Look, we are both Marlin fans who are both frustrated by the loss tonight.?

My only point is that the Marlins did not lose tonight because of Torborg.? Torborg didn't hit into the double play - Pudge did.? It's the second week of April, not August - Pudge is not tired, slumping yes, but not physically tired.? Of all the players on the roster he is the one you want up in that situation. He is the All-Star.? When Torborg screws up, I'll be the first to call him on it - but that wasn't the case tonight.

Pudge just didn't deliver tonight - that's all - let's get 'em tomorrow.

As for the "all-knowing" Das - I would be surprised if he felt Pudge should be bunting as well.? I'm sure he will not "beat around the bush" with his thoughts on the matter - he never does.

nice to see you've cooled off..

frustrated? yes.. what frustrates me the most is all the failed opportunities after we were lucky enough to still be in the game in the 8th inning.. that's why I said of a "considered possibility" of a bunt situation.. just get the job done and tie the game.. instead of stranding the RISP.. there could have been a different outcome but what can you do.. what's done is done..

Great thing about baseball is that you've got 162 games to play...

One more thing I'd like to mention.. Buck Showalter intentionally walks Barry Bonds with the bases loaded.. he walked in a run but still won the game.. smart move in my book...

i gotta agree with Malman...

you dont 'bunt' with your best hitter up.... im sorry, but thats how i feel

what if Pudge misses the bunt... Castillo is toast at home

we will get em tomorrow boys.... 'the good guys' could use a nice road win here

the Phillies pitching staff was pretty stellar tonight.....*props* to them

tomorrow it's our other Ace Josh Beckett vs Joe Roa, who has a 12+era...... the bats need to show up tomorrow

With Pudge in a slump you have to consider alternatives.. maybe not a bunt and run but a hit and run..

Hey, Torborg did drop the ball there, you don't bunt with your best hitter, but you do hit and run to avoid the possibility of the double play and give a chance to the man on 3rd to score.

How can you put a hit and run signal on when its the first pitch to the hitter? It was Pudge's fault for swinging at first pitch junk instead of working the count. He even said it in the post game wrap. Torborg was not at fault in this situation because he let his best hitter try and take the lead back. Having him bunt would not be the right choice in that situation.

but he could have deffinitely told him to work the count and not be aggressive, not give him the green light as he did. this is not about pudge is about the marlins.

who said Torborg gave him the green light?

Pudge is a veteran who knows he should have seen 2 or 3 pitches.... Pudge's fault, bottom line...
