Jorge Cantu Traded to Rangers

Featured Replies

Nice to see Jorge say a proper farewell to the team. We don't always get to see that. I was always happy that he got to rejuvenate his career as a Marlin, I had followed him a lot when he was with the Rays and it was disappointing to see him struggle and fall out of favor very quickly, even after setting a franchise record for RBI. His time as a Marlin was over, but even though I'm sure we're all happy to move forward and get a nice prospect or maybe two in the process, it was always great to see Cantu come in and fill some big shoes after Cabrera was traded. We couldn't have expected any better except for the recent cold streak, and there is no way that this team is near as competitive as it has been the last couple years without Cantu providing one of the most steady and consistently productive bats in the lineup.

Although I hate to see Jorge leave because he was a class act & a good player while he was here, minus the defensive errors, it's good to at least get some value out of him while we could.
