November 21, 200322 yr 11/19/2003 12:40 AM ET Florida Coca-Cola celebrates the 2003 champion Marlins Commemorative cans now available in South Florida retail outlets Hollywood, FL (November 19, 2003) -- Florida baseball fans will be toasting their hometown team, the Florida Marlins, with limited-edition six-packs of Coca-Cola classic, now available in South Florida retail outlets. This customized six-pack features the Marlins' logo along with a message recognizing the team's 2003 baseball championship: "The Refreshing Taste of Victory: Marlins 2003 Champions." Just over 172,000 of these specially-designed six-packs were produced, and they will only be available while supplies last. The cans can be found on the shelves of supermarkets, convenience stores and other retails outlets from Ft. Pierce to the Florida Keys. "We are very excited to continue to share our world championship with a very deserving public," said David Samson, President, Florida Marlins. "The Marlins organization is proud to be associated with a winning tradition like Florida Coca-Cola." Coca-Cola has been a sponsor of the Florida Marlins since the team's franchise was established in 1993. Plans are in the works to release a commemorative bottle in time for Opening Day this coming spring. "If our experience with the sale of other commemorative cans is any indication, these six-packs won't be available for long," said Ray Gough, South Area Vice President, Florida Coca-Cola Bottling Company. "Our Company is proud to be able to recognize the Marlins on their championship season and honor the team in this way." November 21, 200322 yr I have been waiting for this Coke cans for awhile now! I have the collectible glass bottles of the Inagural Season and the Coke cans of the 1997 World Championship, so I have been waiting to add this one to the collection!
