1998 All Star Game

Featured Replies

Alot of us feel the 1997 Firesale is probably the low point of our franchise (and I know our Irish friend didn't follow til 04).

I wanted to get a 1998 All Star Jersey from one of our beloved fish, and the novelty of it lead me to a disturbing wiki page---

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1998_Major_League_Baseball_All-Star_Game

Heres the 1998 All Stars that were a Marlin in 97-

Position Players

Edgar Renteria (Still in Miami at the time)

Moises Alou (HOU)

Gary Sheffield (LAD)

Devin White (ARI)

Pitchers-

Kevin Brown (SD)

Robb Nenn (SF)

Not to mention the Former Marlins on that team at that time---

Mike Piazza (NYM by FLA in May of that season) STARTER

Trevor Hoffman (SD)

Walt Weiss (ATL) STARTER

God that game must have been depressing for our older posters--- Looking back at it, We could have repeated with a cast like we sent away. Cheap Bastard Huizinga.

You can't make a "if wishes were fishes" post with both Sheffield and Hoffman.

Correction---

Hoffman and Sheffield and Piazza LOL.

The move on comment to the second poster-----

It's the offseason,

It's the offseason,

Personally, I think the saddest All Star moment was when the 2000 game, which had been awarded to the Marlins in the mid 90's, was stolen away and awarded to Atlanta bc of Turner Field.
