ESPN is eating this up

When we were challenging the Phillies for first in the division they said absolutely nothing about us. Now that we suck they are all over it. Front page of their site, beginning of Sportscenter(if not leading it). All over their other talk shows.

F**k you ESPN, you act like we don't exist when we are good and can't get enough of it when we fall to the bottom of the standings.

Lol, I was thinking about this earlier watching ESPN, it's nice to get some media attention every once in a while.

I am seriously curious to see what the opening of the new ballpark brings.

You do realize that this isn't just some losing streak, right? The Marlins have had a manager resign, and replaced him with an 80-year old. This month of June hasn't only been bad; it's been historically bad.

Why wouldn't they be all over this? It's a unique sports story.

Just about to say something like this. Technically, the Marlins have a historically bad losing % for a month so far. A win here tonight should put us out of that discussion, and actually end most discussion about McKeon and the Marlins in general.

Before, we were just a good team with a great record at the beginning of the year. Besides, the Indians were getting a lot of publicity because they were even bigger underdogs. And they had the best record in baseball for a while.

ESPN isn't really Anti-Marlin at all. In fact, most of their writers (Olney, Rosenthal, Gammons) like us. They are just reporting on a historic event.

I understand it's an interesting story but If we were beating everyone we played right now and in the running for the division there is no way they would be giving us this much attention. Nobody on ESPN picked us to run with the Phillies, when they were only 2 games behind them ESPN hardly mentioned it.

And while this streak has been rough, to compare us to the 0-16 Lions in that "Demise of a Franchise" list is crap. We may have 1 win this month but we're still 32-41, a losing record but nothing like a team that failed to win a game an entire season.

They constantly blowup the negative and downplay the positive when it comes to the Marlins.

I think if we were riding a 12-game winning streak, we would be getting this kind of attention... I mean obviously Edwin wouldn't be gone, but still. ESPN is big on streaks and historical events.

Also Football/Baseball are horrible sports to compare each other to. One has 16 games in a schedule. The other has 162. It shouldn't really be relevant.

Either way, I'm an MLB Network type of guy. They seem to like the Fish as well. Just have to ride out this wave and get back into the Wild Card race (which is not out of reach)

I was really hoping ESPN you were gonna talk about how ESPN was all over our dog face and not the team itself. fail.

Somehow I would think ESPN were cat people :shifty
