With three of our teams kicking ass, and the other being one of the NFL´s storied franchise is it a matter of time, or will espn never care for Miami?

ESPNFlorida.com includes Miami teams in its coverage.

How long has that been around? It doesn't look like its from ESPN though if you compare it to the Espn.com sites. Genesis communications at the bottom is a red flag. It looks like a phishing site except the links are real. And it only has a Tampa and Orlando news section anyway. I'll pass.

Not that I care to have it, but I wonder what the Criteria is for a city/metropolitan area getting its own sub-site. It must have to do with population. The cities that already have sub-sites are bigger population-wise than the Miami area.

I guess the "Heat Index" is the closest Miami will ever get to an ESPN sub-site. Miami's lack of one is the only reason the "Heat Index" exists contrary to what Heat haters want to believe.

I'm not really sure how long it's been around, actually. I stumbled across its a few months ago. I don't know why there isn't a Miami section. Tampa I understand, but Orlando only has the Magic and...UCF. There's a Jags story in the Orlando news section right now. WTF. The site needs work. I assume it's new.

I just got off the phone with someone from their Largo headquarters. Here's what I found out:

ESPNFlorida.com launched in October. Basically they merged all of Florida's conglomerate ESPN radio stations into one platform. That's pretty much Tampa and Orlando. They cover Miami sports on the site despite there not being a section for it. They are in the process of branching out and hiring writers in Miami, Jacksonville and Tallahassee. They're "moving in that direction."

I also informed the guy that it said "ESPN Forida" in the contact us section.

Edit: They fixed the typo. I am so f*cking powerful.

I'd rather not.

The writers for espnchicago are all hacks, IMO.

Didn't one of them stalk Bartman outside his office for an entire day? And he didn't even get the story.

Yeah, but it was because his conscience wouldn't let him bother Bartman when he came in to the parking garage.

ESPN South Florida!
