December 1, 200322 yr It's more of a band that is popular among college students, but I was wonderin if any of yall liked Widespread Panic...sort of a jam band.
December 2, 200322 yr Author theyre not really underground....they arent indy....they are based out of Athens, GA. Comparable to Allman Brothers...they are a jam band.
December 6, 200322 yr I like widespread panic. BIG fan of String Cheese Incident (another awesome jam band), I've seen them 12 times in 03
December 6, 200322 yr Author i might try gettin into String Cheese Incident. I've heard things about them. Do you like Derek Trucks Band?
December 6, 200322 yr what do u guys mean my jam bands? and i dont think ive heard of them? what do they play?
December 6, 200322 yr what do u guys mean my jam bands? ? Phish, The DMB etc... basically bans that music is spontanious(sp?) and is a mixture of many sounds, Funk, Alternative Rock, BlueGrass etc.. They also usually make most of their money on concerts rather than album sales as usually all Jam Bands promote bootlegging. And of course Jam Bands are usually the ones that rival rappers in terms of well... The Green Stuff
December 7, 200322 yr Author its bluegrassy stuff....they are from California I think. I saw em in Spartanburg last year. It's a group of 4 people. The lead guy plays the mandolin, the girl plays fiddle, and a guy plays guitar. The 4th guy isnt really a member of Nickel Creek, I think. I think he's more of just some random guy. Anyway, he plays (I forget the name of the instrument) big violin that rests on the ground. They are pretty good. Had a kinda famous song called Lighthouse.
December 7, 200322 yr . Anyway, he plays (I forget the name of the instrument) big violin that rests on the ground. Cello?
December 9, 200322 yr I love nickel creek and WSP is ok. They've come to Gainesville a few times....my favorite of theirs is Airplane. Favorite GA band is REM.
December 10, 200322 yr Author REM aint bad. Yah, I'd love to see Panic in concert. I bet they put on a great show. Nickel Creek puts on a great show.
December 11, 200322 yr and apparently they have the best mandolin (chris thile i think) player in the world...I'm getting one for Christmas, so I'm probably going to be listening to a lot of Nickel Creek. My favorite songs they do are as follows: fox and ode to a butterfly And what about texas country? Nashville country is some of the worst music on the planet, but artists like robert earl keen, cory morrow, pat green are incredible. Why do Southerners support some of the s*** coming out of Nashville? Of course I don't lump Nelson, Williams Sr, Cash, maylon into that group.
