I was running through our 2013 draft picks the other day, and looking over everyone's stats, I wasn't overly impressed. Moran, of course, did well, hitting .299 and an OPS just under .800 while making some adjustments after a slow start. Williams did good, Suggs struck out a lot but also walked a lot, so that concerns me. CJ Robinson put up some decent numbers in his appearances on the mound [12th round], as did Max Garner [18th round].

However, one person jumped out to me, and that was 23rd round pick, right-handed reliever Josh Easley. Now, I don't want to get TOO excited, considering the bulk of his work came in Batavia [he pitched two innings in Jupiter, six in the Gulf league]. BUT, his numbers were eye-popping, to say the least. I don't know what he throws, but these were his numbers:

Age W L ERA G GF SV IP H R ER HR BB SO BF WHIP H/9 BB/9 SO/9 SO/BB

22 5 0 0.59 18 11 4 30.2 14 6 2 0 5 43 113 0.620 4.1 1.5 12.6 8.60

I kept the age in there cause I know some of you will say, "but he's 22, too old for his league." I know. STILL! The numbers are impressive.

This is someone I'd like to keep my eye on next year and see how things go in what I assume will be Jupiter and maybe Jacksonville later on.

Thoughts? [Again, I know, old for his league and most of it came in Batavia]

He had TJ surgery in 2012. According to baseball america he's low 90's with a good downer curve ball.

Nice find buddy boy. Def worth keeping an eye on. Start him in A+ then quickly move to AA if he does well next year?
