May 7, 201412 yr Worth the risk if they think he'll pan out due to how contracts are these days. Much less of a risk to take a chance on a guy like this than to sign a FA to an A-Rod type deal later.

That's a little reckless. This has been done before and it's paid off for the teams that have done it. It makes more sense than what the Marlins do with their young players.
